THAT is the eternal question.

Like they mention in my link, I hope they're willing to go rated R. But my guess is they'll pull it back to PG-13.

Completely defeats the purpose.

Deadpool is a rated R comic book character.

Though I do like his inclusion in the Lego Marvel Superheroes game. That's just funny.

I would think Deadpool is enough of a smaller character they could do an R and be fine. Much like Blade.....

Marketing Deadpool to a younger audience probably isnt a smart idea.

But how will Fox **** it up?

They'll bring Hugh Jackman back so Wolverine can be Deadpool's father. Then Wolverine takes center stage for 3/4 of the film's run time.

Also, they'll cast a supermodel who can't speak any English to be the unnecessary love interest. And that love interest will also be related to Wolverine, because Wolverine.

I used to really like Deadpool but in the last two weeks I've come to hate that character with a passion of 1000 burning suns. I can't quite put my finger on what brought this on though...

Hopefully they push the PG13 envelope. There's a lot of stuff that goes down in PG13 movies these days that wouldn't have flown when we were kids.

I loved Guardians of the Galaxy, but it had some creative language and I wouldn't take my kids to it.

PG-13 can drop the F bomb one time. Deadpool probably wants more than that.

yeah, but how many blockbuster R-rated comic book movies have there been? Very few outside of Frank Miller's work. There was very little chance it was ever going to get greenlit if it was going to be an R.

I heard one of the major factors for rating is if there is blood. Apparently they plan to push the language creatively (like Guardians) and just have him decapitating fools and what not, but without blood, which really isn't a big deal for a comic book movie. Also, Deadpool is definitely obscene, but not necessarily vulgar, so the language might still be able to feel Deadpool-y. I'm cautiously optimistic they can pull it off

Deadpool, by the company that has given us X3, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and The Wolverine, that's PG-13? I'm most definitely out. There hasn't been a good X-Men movie that hasn't featured Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, and James McAvoy since Alan Cumming was Nightcrawler. I have zero faith that this will break the streak.
