While I don't watch it myself as it isn't really something up my alley, I do know there is a following of that show that REALLY loves it.
Sasha Calle has been cast as Supergirl in the DC Universe. She will make her first appearance in The Flash movie, opposite Ezra Miller's Flash. She currently stars on The Young and the Restless. There was reportedly over 400 actresses that auditioned for the role.

Sure. Hard to know much of anything about her unless you watch soap operas, which I do not. However, I guess I'll just trust them at this point. Shoot, both Chadwick Boseman and Michael B Jordan had their run in the soap operas.

Thanks for posting. That was an emotional read. I had no idea about Snyder dealing with his daughter's suicide at the time.
That article makes me think twice about watching the Snyder cut. Previously, I can't say I was all that intrigued, but I really want to see what his vision looks like. I'm still going in with moderate expectations, but I really want to like Justice League. I think the cast is solid, but the script was just a rushed mess.
I hope Marvel keeps crushing it with their movies and series, but I'd really like DC to right the ship. I grew up with DC moreso than Marvel and keep hoping the studio can figure things out.
Yeah I heard about him losing his daughter at the time and it just breaks your heart. I hope the Snyder Cut is good.
DC has been partially incredibly unlucky. They hired Whedon who seemed like a good fit after his Avengers stuff but I think the guy was out of ideas by then. Ultron was a mess but had some really good stuff in it. Justice League just didn't. They've gotten incredibly unlucky with some casting stuff - Affleck wasn't bad as Batman but he had his person stuff. Now Ezra Miller, whose Flash was I thought the best part of JL, basically assaulted a woman in a public place. Ray Fisher just continues feuding with Warner brass which is totally justified but you just don't see that at Marvel.
All of that said, as much as I like 300 (and I LOVE 300) I'm not sure Snyder has produced a great movie since then. Man of Steel was pretty good. Watchman, Sucker Punch, and BvS IMO are straight up not good. I think people who are overly critical of Snyder's style are wrong, it's a cool style. I do think the problem is that it's the only visual style for the entire DCEU. The Captain America movies in the MCU are a little darker and grittier. Taika is going to have a brighter, sillier style. My point is they are allowing filmmakers to bring their own flavor and own style and it appears there is just one way to make things at DC which I think is a mistake. One thing people loved about Aquaman, myself included was the color palette and the fact that it's not so self serious.
Yeah, there is no doubt Warner Bros really needs to get their crap together. Some of it is bad luck and some of it is luck of their own doing. Its not like Marvel hasn't had their own instances of bad luck too, but like any well-run company or sports team for that matter, they work through it and still come out successful on the other end overall. With WB, just whenever they seem to get moving in the right direction, new crap just keeps boiling to the surface which just screams a poorly run company. I know this may come across as a DC basher, but I can promise you I'm far from. I love both Marvel and DC equally and want them both to succeed, but I'm also not afraid to call a spade a spade. This isn't to say DC hasn't produced some really good stuff either over the past few years, because they have.
As for Snyder, I like the guy and always have. He seems like a really nice guy who his staff love, and I feel terrible for the tragedy he and his wife have gone through. I've been vocal on here that I'm a monstrous Man of Steel lover, but then couldn't have been more disappointed with Batman v Superman. I do hope his version of Justice League is good and everybody loves it, but I hate to admit that I'm super doubtful everyone will. Ultimately, I think we've had enough of a sample size to know that Zack Snyder has a distinct look and style to his movies that some people really love and some people just really don't. Its okay. It just is what it is. If I had to guess an outcome, I'm going to guess all the Snyder lovers will end up loving what they get, while all the people who in general don't like Snyder's DC movies, will probably hate the movie and find this whole parade to be pointless. I do think anyone who strongly believes this movie is going to change the narrative either way too much probably have their head in the sand and are swayed too much by their own biases.
100%. The #ReleaseTheSnyderCut truthers are going to go head over heels for it regardless probably. The Journos and regular people they attacked probably can't wait to crap on it.
I'm with you on Man of Steel. It's a good movie and definitely a good movie to start off a comics universe. 100% it's way too long, one of my main critiques of Snyder. He's the Judd Apatow of comic movies. I don't like Marvel and DC equally, but admittedly my first and really only true love when it comes to comics is X-Men and I have zero history with the Avengers and the characters there so I'm kind of agnostic about it versus DC stuff.

The Blue Beatle movie has finally found its director with Angel Manuel Soto. Hard to have too much of an opinion as I've never heard of the guy or seen anything he has directed.
It's going to be a fine-line to make this a Blue Beatle movie and not a DC version of Iron Man. For those that may not know, Blue Beatle gets his powers from a mechanical suit of armor that has access to an array of weapons/shields/tech and also an alien AI inside.
I agree that there is a large level of stupidity/arrogance/stubbornness with Snyder over how long he shoots movies he simply just needs to adjust moving forward. I totally agree that the studio's Justice League mandate of 2 hours was completely stupid for a team-up comic book movie, and an overreaction in the opposite direction. However, at the same time, by his 3rd DC movie, you'd think Snyder would be smart enough to NOT keep producing 4 hour movies and then be shocked when the studio wants to cut it down to something more manageable. To add to this, when we get his still overly-long shorter cuts, they don't make sense and seem like something is missing. That is poor planning. These are not slow-burn streaming TV series, they are movies, and nobody wants to go see a 4 hour movie in the theaters for every single movie he makes. It also costs a ton more money to make that long of a movie. Therefore, on the flip side, I totally get the studio's frustrations on that front. I would be too.

Agree 100% but Justice League was set up to fail.
You can't do a comic book team up movie where you are introducing multiple heroes as well as a villain. It just doesn't work. We'd never seen Aquaman, Flash, or Cyborg. People know who the flash is but Aquaman and especially Cyborg are entirely new characters to a lot of people.
When the first Avengers movie came out, We'd had two Iron Man movies, a Captain America movie, and a Thor movie. Black Widow was introduced in Iron Man 2, Hawkeye in Thor, and ostensibly the bad guy in Loki in Thor. We had seen every major player in the movie in a prior movie. Coming in cold and having to introduce all of those characters makes the movie be 3-4 hours to make any sense.
For all the Zack Snyder talk lately, his next movie Army of the Dead coming on Netflix released its first trailer. Gotta admit, I think it looks pretty good. Count me in.
No. I'm waiting until all episodes drop in streaming, but I've heard good things. I've officially given up the Arrowverse, but this is the one show I'm planning on jumping back in for.
