I did finally see it in theaters and walked away pretty disappointed unfortunately. I really did want to love it, but unfortunately just didn't. While there was some fun stuff that I enjoyed, most particularly in the first 2/3 of the movie (even some of the corny stuff), I just found the story to be too non-sensical, breaking their own logic and canon rules pretty much at every turn. Don't get me wrong, there is a certain level of disbelief that needs to be suspended with nearly every comic-book movie out there, but I thought Wonder-Woman 1984 went ridiculously out there pretty much in every category. Most particularly, everything surrounding the rules and effects of the wishing stone to Wonder Woman's new powers just didn't make sense. They were all super inconsistent to the point where you just lose your audience. I attribute some of this fault to Patty Jenkins for sure, but the biggest fault probably falls on the writers. I actually found myself enjoying both Cheetah and Max Lord, but simply found the writing of their characters arcs to be quite terrible at times, particularly at the end.
