While we've still got a few weeks before the Batman vs Superman Ultimate Edition (R rated) comes out on Blu-Ray, which ends up being about 30 minutes longer than the theatrical version, the following is a non-spoilery review that compares the two versions:

http://screenrant.com/batman-v-superman-ultimate-edition-reviews-bluray/

Sounds like it does do some justice in filling in some of the major plot holes for the theatrical trailer and does sound like it is the more complete, better version of the film. However, it doesn't sound like it will be head-turning for anywhere where it won't make you like the film if you hated it. It doesn't change anything as for direction, look or tone of the film, which is a lot of what many people hated about the film. If you don't care for spoilers, they also posted an article that shows every single difference between the two versions of the films. I haven't read this one.

Like has been done with many other CBMs, the Suicide Squad movie apparently allowed a set visit for many journalists to check out which gave them an inside look into the movie. These set visits are usually paired with an embargo that only allows them to post what they learned and saw on a certain date. Well, that date appears to be today as a slew of reports are surfacing. Here is one site that outlines their overview:

So far, journalists seem pretty positive on what they were seeing.

I think Damon would have been a great Robin.... 15 years ago. Then again, while I like Affleck at Batman, I do wish they would have gone with a younger Batman, beings how they are trying to build a big long universe around him. He is good for now, but if this thing is still going 5-10 years from now like planned, what will he be like?

Maybe he passes the torch to his ward? They'd have to introduce a solid Robin candidate soon though.

Sharpen the pitch-forks and light the torches:

Zack Snyder is one of the writers of the new Wonder Woman film.

This is bizarre news. Not just because Wonder Woman has wrapped production and we’ve only just learned who wrote the S-C-R-I-P-T Patty Jenkins shot, but because what many assumed would be a DC movie out of the direct hands of Zack Snyder’s involvement is in fact very much connected with the filmmaker.A new press released issued by Warner Brothers today marks the first time that the writers on Wonder Woman have been revealed, despite the fact that the film is in the stages of post-production right now. Specifically, the film is credited as being written by Heinberg and Johns, based on a story by Snyder and Heinberg. It was long believed that writer Jason Fuchs—who is also supposedly writing a movie based on DC’s cosmic bounty hunter Lobo—had drafted the S-C-R-I-P-T for Wonder Woman, but clearly Warner Bros. went in a very different direction, and drew in some big DC talent to write it.
Given that Snyder introduced Gal Gadot’s take on Diana to the world in Batman v Superman, his involvement is perhaps not all that surprising, and neither is Johns, considering his more prominent place in the DC films hierarchy now—including his involvement with the standalone Batman project. Heinberg, known for his comics work on Young Avengers for Marvel and screenwriting credits for The O.C., Gilmore Girls, and more, is perhaps the most surprising, but this is not the first time he and Johns have collaborated: he co-wrote a five-issue arc of JLA with Johns in 2005 called “Crisis of Conscience.”

Also, here’s the full Wonder Woman movie press release issued by Warner Bros, including a new synopsis of the film:
“Wonder Woman” hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
Joining Gadot in the international cast are Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaoui. Jenkins directs the film from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, story by Zack Snyder & Allan Heinberg, based on characters from DC Entertainment. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston. The film is produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Richard Suckle, with Rebecca Roven, Stephen Jones, Wesley Coller and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers. Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with RatPac-Dune Entertainment, an Atlas Entertainment/Cruel and Unusual production, “Wonder Woman.” The film is scheduled for release on June 2, 2017, and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Not gonna lie, but I've developed a pretty solid crush on Wonder Woman. Her costume in general is awesome too. Keep in mind that this is coming from a guy who was skeptical of Gal Gadot being cast in the first place beings how she probably weighed about 100 pounds that the time. I'll give her props though as she has put on some bulk and now fits the part. Can't wait for her solo movie:

I have high hopes for Wonder Woman. Patty Jenkins was originally supposed to direct Thor 2, which I think would have changed the entire tone of that film and would have given Jane Foster more depth as a character rather than being the damsel in distress for most of that movie.

I think Wonder Woman is going to turn out to be the most well-rounded of the DC movies to date. The set photos show the amazonian warriors, so we know that we are going to see these women kick-***. Chris Pine just oozes charisma and whit and is the perfect casting for Steve Trevor. I really hope Wonder Woman succeeds, because that will put more pressure on Marvel to deliver a more-focused Captain Marvel film, and perhaps even try to rush production on a Black Widow movie.

I've said it before, but as a parent of a 4 year-old girl, nothing excites me more than seeing these ***-kicking heroines like Black Widow, Wonder Woman and Rey from Star Wars that my daughter can admire and emulate while playing with her friends on the playground.

Yep, I'm super excited for all that stuff, including the upcoming Captain Marvel flick. And you are right, these types of things are even more cool when you have a daughter, as I've got a one and a half year old little girl now who I'd like to share that type of stuff with. Even right now, she really digs these DC and Marvel Superhero board books I check out at the library for her.

That wonder woman trailer.....
raw

That trailer would probably be my vote as to the best thing to come out of Comic-Con this year. I can't wait for that movie. I will say the Justice League footage looked pretty good too, but as long as Zack Snyder is at the head of any of these movies, I'm always going to stay pretty reserved and skeptical.

Anyone else planning on going to the opening screening of Suicide Squad on August 4th? I'm definitely stoked for it. In fact, I've gotten more and more excited about it as time has gone, especially since I've gotten more and more confident that it will be a good movie as time has gone on. I guess verdict is still out though for sure.

I am excited for Suicide Squad in a vacuum. I just don't know how they can reconcile it with what Snyder started in BvS. I mean, we see the Joker and all these underpowered or no-power villains running around the movie. The question is how? Batman was willing to kill Supes minus a last minute change in heart(Martha?). He pretty much offs every grunt he encounters in the movie. You saw the Robin armor with Joker graffiti, alluding to the Robins end being Joker related and yet Jared Leto's character is still around? This Batman gives no f**ks but somehow the Joker is alive? I would expect him to be in pieces based on how Affleck's Batman was portrayed. And the other Batman rogue's in the movie would have met the same fate. It just doesn't make sense how you could combine these two design choices.

Anyone get the chance to go out and see The Killing Joke last night? We only had two screenings and they won't be replaying it but it was a pretty good turn out.
