Dude, you don’t need a phone now, smart watches do everything those clunky phones can do.
Not all of us have tiny hands to mess with a tiny watch screen and touchscreen LOL.

What would be worse is if Mn decided to keep Standard time year round and Iowa Kept DS year round. Then other neighbors kept the switch, and others picked one or the other, some we would be 2 hours off, some 1, some same during some months some same others. Thats just another reason to leave it alone. That would suck, I do a lot of business there since I’m 2 miles from the border. I would be confused if iowa did and MN didn’t.

I said that as an example if you keep DST you get it the first way, if you keep Standard you get it the other. So keeping standard would mean super early sunrise and early sunsets in the summer. And keeping DST you would get super late sunrise in the winter and not quite as early sunsets. The normal season for those would not change. Obviously during normal DST season DST time would be the same if we kept that, and if we kept standard during standard time it would be the same.
edit: I go with we keep the adjustment every year and tell the whiners to STFU. You quoted times for the DM area for the extreme North Iowa it would actually be several mins worse, as this would be for the entire state, and would mean they would be forced too. Plus means going from Iowa to other states you would have to change your clock because other states wont switch.
Just realize switching has a point and get over it.
I worked with a woman who grew up in a town right on a time zone boundary. Her mom worked for years in one time zone less than half a mile out of town while their home was in the other time zone in town. Their school and church were in the town and its time zone. It is amazing that the mom lived past 30.Some of the studies against DST show that people who live close to the time zone lines tend to fare the worst. Messes up their circadian rhythm.
I’m guessing if states start dropping it other neighboring states will follow suit.

Then everyone will have to resort to ******** about the international date line.We just need one time zone all across the world. Conduct your school and business whenever you like. Sun comes up at 6pm so be it.
But it's just one hour twice a year. Get over it whiner. Some of you need to spend a few years working on the Railroad working on-call 24/7/365 with only 8 hours rest between runs, no days off, outside of your vacation time.
Then we will see how an hour shift in your sleep affects your circadian cycles vs catching a call for a train at 2am, working 12 hours, resting from 2pm to 10pm, accepting the call for the next train at 8:30pm to be on duty at 10pm, working another 12 hours, resting from 10am to 6pm, but getting the phone call at 4:30pm to be there for the 6pm train, and running another 12 hours and repeat.
I have to admit they finally stepped in and gave 10 hours rest instead of 8 between runs, but that was actually met with a lot of resistance because it was mandated instead of an option thus forcing people to make less money taking less runs.
Everyone that complains about sleep cycles and how horrible 1 hour time shift is for their sleep, really need to get some perspective.

Its a problem for parents that dont want kids walking to school and bus in the dark in winter. Safety.Definitely need to keep long summer nights. I wouldn't give a crap if we stayed there and the sun did not come up until 9am in the winter. How is that a problem? Its the winter, Ill be frustrated either way.
Somewhat agree. But will make it easier to get to the gym in the morning when it's not totally dark before work.
Tonight's the night...Reminder the clock goes ahead a hour tonight.
