Yeah, he is good when he does the street magic. His stunts like bein ice or water etc is stupid.

I actually met him once. A friend/former prof of mine from ISU was in NYC stacking cards in shapes of New York buildings at the ABC times square studio. Went to visit him and David Blaine was there. He gave my friend his shoes&?$ -Also, the guy who ran the printers at grad school was Blaine's cousin. Looked just like him.

Apparently it was magic day because some other channel had Chris Angel's show on. I watched some mindfreak a long time ago and some of the stuff was cool, but that show has completely gone off the rails. So the episode starts with these 3-4 guys walking down the hall in suits. He is talking about how you never know who will walk through the doors. Then it flashes to the room where he is talking to an OBVIOUS Obama impersinator while 3 "secret service" members are around him and Angel does some trick with a cell phone which is also obvious CGI. I keep waiting form him to come out with the joke and stop pretending it's the president but in the end, no. They honestly thought people were dumb enough to think it was him. I couldn't stop laughing at how stupid it has become and turned the channel. I haven't watched Blaine's new special but if it's more of the same, it will be disappointing.

Wait, so the question is if David Blaine actually possesses magic powers? Like he's an honest and true wizard, but instead of taking over the world, he decides to use his powers to impress rubes on the street with card tricks?

Huh, must have been a Hufflepuff.

It was a good show. Blain stole president Bush's watch off his hands doing a card trick. The secret service was looking really sketchy at him. Blain is a master at card tricks. He really is.

Here is the show. Don't know how long it will stay up on YouTube.
