Whether is was deciding to get married, loosing hundreds playing roulette, getting drunk and cuddling with a bum on the street, going to a Celine Dion concert, deciding to play hoops at UNLV,... we have all made bad decisions in Vegas. That's why what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. You can't really blame a kid for making a poor decision in that city.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? I'm sorry, but going to a Celine Dion concert instead of doing anything else? That **** would stay with you forever.

Dave Rice is leveraging a USF job offer along with his recruiting class of 2014's potential to get an extension at UNLV. It's pretty easy to see.

Rice hasn't won a NCAA tournament game and has underachieved his entire time there as a head coach.

UNLV will likely give an extension to Rice and it is a total d-bag move on Rice's part. Earn your raise!

Yeah, he's just pulling a Kirk Ferentz type move. Get the rumor mill going about you possibly leaving, and then cash in on it when the AD throws more money at you to stay.

He'll be at UNLV next year, and he'll be making over a million a year. The only way that doesn't happen IMO is if sanctions are coming UNLV's way and he wants to bail.

Security in this case no doubt mean an extension...and a bigger buyout if Rice fails next year.

@GoodmanESPN: Been told that no offer was made from South Florida to UNLV coach Dave Rice, per source. Two sides met, Rice likely to stay at UNLV.

So... Close thread?

I have no problem with somebody trying to make money. I don't care who it is. He's not forcing anybody to pay him so the blame doesn't lie with him. Frankly, I'm not sure why people have a problem with this. He may suck as a coach but that's the problem of whoever is paying him.

Did Dave Rice even make the trip to USF or did he just buy a round trip ticket to Miami and spend the day in the spa at the Bellagio?

Even if all this goes down I don't want RV coming to Iowa State. He had his chance and blew it. Call me crazy but that kid plays the game for all the wrong reasons. Who's next..

O.K. Crazy, but you can call me Crazy Jr., because I am in complete agreement. I want players that want to be here. I would take a Georges Niang for 4 years over a one and done.

Put me in the not wanting RV camp.

Obviously his talent is great, but I find myself leaning this way too. Seems he may have a moral issue and could be more of a "me" kid than a "team" guy which we seem to have.

I just can't see myself actually saying we don't want him, but I am not disappointed that he isn't coming here.

Why do so many fans have such a juvenile attitude about a high school kid's college decision? "I'm done with this kid." Like he gives a rat's ***?

Because they spent months with creepy avatars of his face and trying to "twitter bomb" him and now they act like 14 year old girls when he chose another school.

I'm sure they said that. And if Rice left, and UNLV did not release Morgan from his LOI?

I highly doubt UNLV would wanna deal with that PR nightmare. It's common practice for schools to let recruits out of their LOIs if the coach they commit to leaves.

I swear if FH did go to the NBA there would be tons of posters on here saying we didn't need or want him anyway and we would be better off.

News flash: The way things turn out in reality is not always the best possible outcome. There is no need to pretend it is either.
