Thanks guys.. I originally thought it was a ISU issue. But now see it is "just the way it is". on more question.. If I had a mac book, would I be able to watch the game on that?(for future issues. not going to run out and buy one)

As long as it can run Neulion's crappy video interface you can watch it on anything. I can't speak for iMacs but I've used my PC, my work laptop, my cell phone, and my Kindle to stream Cyclones.TV stuff live with zero issues.

The iPad can't run Neulion's video interface, that's the reason for the $10 app, not ISU trying to rip people off.

So why do these.coms still use flash? Isn't there newer tech out there?

I don't do web development, but it seems it's far and away the best (probably easiest) API to use to build media players. There's support built into HTML5 but it will be a while until browsers that support the spec are widely installed enough that most sites will be willing to rebuild their player around it.

This. It's too bad that NeuLion seems to be the only game in town when it comes to internet broadcasts for college sports. If I was a conference commissioner, I'd put in a call to MLB.com & ask them about working out a deal to do online broadcasts for the entire conference. MLB.tv has it's crap together when it comes to online broadcasts & I would think they'd at least be somewhat interested in discussing additional revenue considering the schedule for college athletics would complement MLB's schedule nicely.

This! MLB's online content is awesome! I had the full video subscription for a year. I didn't watch enough so now I just stream the Twins radio feed through their mobile app ($15 for the whole season!). When I had the video I loved being able to watch four games at once.

There is no universal video streaming format. Companies have limited resources, so they roll out the most widely accepted standards that exist (i.e. flash). Eventually some new video streaming standard will come along (potentially with html5). Until then, it costs companies extra development time and money to support web streaming to ipads, hence the $10 charge to use it.

Yes you would be able to. I did this for the Drake game, even shot it to my Apple TV. Granted the feed from Mediacom was horrible, but it worked.

Understatement.

Speaking of horrible feeds, is cyclones.tv getting a feed from UNI for the women's game tonight? I seem to recall the last ISU game at Cedar Falls video being such bad TV that you seriously couldn't really even tell what color the uniforms were with a picture that was at times so washed out you couldn't tell one player from another. That was a horrible feed.

I've been looking for a way to airplay cyclones.tv to Apple TV from an older macbook pro running snow leopard. Are you using a specific application or just through the OS? (I thought I saw that Lion/Mountain Lion have better built-in ability to use airplay.)

Ah yes, the neon blue TV. That was great a year or two ago.

I like a good argument about how bad Neulion/ipads/MC22 suck as much as the next guy, but if anyone still cares about watching the game it's also on TV... Remember TV?

TV:
KWWL-7.3; Cedar Falls Utilities 15; WOI-5.2

I watched the game on saturday in SD...man I forgot how impossible it is to go back to SD after HD. I can't wait for the Yale game already since we'll hopefully be back to HD after the UMKC game.

It looks a lot better on TV that it does on Cyclones.tv.

The Omaha game did, since MC22 used to Cyclones TV feed. The Drake game, on the other hand, was awful. Could not even read the time left on the clock. It's not the fact that the cameras are low def, it's like they are not even in focus.

Mountain Lion is built to use airplay. I dont even think Lion can run it and if that is the case Snow Leopard is really not going to be able to. AirParrot is a paid app you can get to play it on those though from what I understand. I have never used it though.
