Agreed. Losing to Wichita State right now would not be considered a bad loss. And losing to them isn't going to create some seismic shift in local recruiting. It's not like eastern Kansas high schools are putting a dozen kids into ranked, major conference programs a year. Everyone loves the notion that the "Big Guy" is scared of the "Little Guy" but it's simply not that interesting of a story. KU recruits nationally and uses their non-con road trips to get in front of different recruiting areas of the country. @ Georgetown in DC and @Temple in Philly this year where we've had some good luck pulling kids (Robinson and the Morris twins).So what is the real reason? WSU is good. Losing to them wouldn't impact KU. The Shockers ended the series back in the 90's when they weren't any good. They want it back now that they're competitive again. Call it arrogant or whatever, but KU is the Big Dog in the state of Kansas. If WSU wants the game so bad, then they're going to have to do it on KU's terms.
