Its not about wind chill. Yes I know its been around a long time. My point was when you would talk about the weather up until a few years ago, people would say its going to be 5 below with a -20 wind chill.

Now many times people dont even talk about the actual temp they only want to go by the "feels like" temp. And as I said, -20 feels like is very cold yes, but actual temp of -20 is colder. Because a few years ago, people talked about the actual temp and then assumed the wind chill on top of it.

Now we hear people say "it feels like -20 out, so its the same as when it was actually -20" But that is just false because almost always actual -20 will have a much lower wind chill itself. Like I said its fine to go by "feels like" temp, with the understanding its not the same thing as what the actual actual temps.

Not a grudge, just an annoying observation, of how things have changed.
It's -9 actual temp. Is it ok for me to say it's cold?

Yep, I’m getting used to 10 degrees. Hoodie weather almost. 40 and I will be sweating and wearing a Speedo
Crazy how the body adapts. We always used to laugh about the first cloudy, sub 50° tailgating day with a little wind and how we’d all be dressed for the arctic with heaters and such. Hit 45° in March and I’d be wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

Although cool and intimidating looking, these machines seem horribly impractical for the purpose of troop transportation. How do the troops get quickly in and out of them?

It's time to put on my Star Wars fanatic hat. They aren't meant for troop transport. Think of them more like tanks. They're meant for ground assault. They were used in Empire to take out the shield generator so the troops could be brought in by ship.

BTW, it's still cold outside.

I thought they carried a platoon of troops? Maybe I'm wrong. I'm not as Star Wars nerdy as you but I can bring a little Star Wars nerdiness to the table.

They do make for a pretty good heavy weapons platform. However, the empire better have air superiority because they do seem vulnerable to attack from the sky.
