I could really go for a re-run of the 2009 Christmas Storm we had here on the western side of Iowa. 20" seems about right....

I hate the snow. Christmas Eve, no matter where it is, someone will be traveling. It's dangerous.

I selfishly wants snow on the 25th because I'll be at my rents for 3 additional days and want to snowmobile

It's Sunday - talk.

I haven't looked at the latest model run (just came out in the last hour or so) but it had been trending south. This morning the Quad Cities NWS was only looking at a dusting or so for their counties.

Again this could change now that it is in the weather balloon network and still a couple days out.

So you're saying the single stage snow thrower fanboys will be happy? :twitcy:

This is why you should always take specific chatter on a storm system that is 6+ days out and throw it in the trash. WAY too early and gets people sharing poor information around the interwebs.

Lots of rain across central/eastern Iowa for this one. Northwest/northern IA may see some accumulation, trace amounts up to 4" that band will continue NE into Minnesota and into Wisconsin. Most of it falls tomorrow.

The impacts, even in the areas with snow, should be pretty minor. Roads/air too warm to allow for much ice to form on treated roads. Mainly a slushy mess while it's snowing... otherwise, wet.
