Chipotle is good stuff, Fighting Burrito when it was Flying Burrito could go toe-to-toe with any of the big chains on the power if Spicy Corn Salsa alone. It has, however; been reduced to a shell of it's former 'tortilla splitting' glory. Not enough mass/meat. period.

Qdoba is a slight step up from taco bell, my ex-gf loved that place and there's a reason she is my ex-gf.

That honestly shocks me that some prefer Pancheros over Chipotle. Most everyone I know would say the opposite.

The good thing is that now everyone in Ames can find out for themselves. And from what I've heard from the Ames city planner, Olive Garden is getting closer to a done deal and should be built across the street next to Texas Roadhouse. Hope that works out!

Growth like this is good for Ames!

...and about damn time.

Im not necessarily a huge fan of some of the new restaurants but at least it's a change and adds to the options.

I've been to Chipolte once...and that was enough. My burrito wasn't awful, just amazingly, solidly ordinary. Nothing stood out as a "signature" feature.

Everytime I ask someone, what's so great about Chipotle I just get "It's Chipolte man! It's awesome. We had them all over in [insert home state]." I think the hype for it in Ames is all of the out-of-stater students that just miss it from home, not because it truly is that awesome.

Chipotle>Pancheros (i prefer things not mixed though, i like the distinct tastes and textures), but unless flying b has gone farther downhill than i thought it had, it should be better than both.

flying burrito is my last stop in campustown for food. It's pretty unspectacular.

I can tell you Fighting Burrito is not that good. Queso tastes more like broth than anything, and the ingredients aren't hot enough in the burrito. And it just doesn't taste all that great, even drunk.

I did not know this was new news, and now I'm trying to figure out where I heard this from awhile ago.

He's saying FINALLY because that side of the building has sat empty for months after it was announced it was going to be a Chipotle.

Is there an empty abandoned Hardees or Taco Bell building in Ames? Then these guys will be up there soon:

I would do it like this...

Chipotle > Moe's > Qdoba > Mr.Burrito > Panchero's > Fighting Burrito

I don't understand the love for Fighting Burrito... I just didn't think it was that good. It must have really fallen off when the new management took over (I never had it with the old people)
