I cannot imagine that it was Charles's idea to leave the team this soon after the incident.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. He seemed like a good kid that kept his nose clean up until now. A kid like that that stepped up to take responsibility for his actions so quickly tells me that this most likely was his choice to leave.

Or his lawyer's advice.

Showed absolute class even in his darkest hour.
I believe exactly what he said and wish him the best.

Thank you, Charles

Really like the speed of which this was handled. A very early test of Fred Hoiberg, and I think he passes with flying colors.

I feel really bad for Charles. He made mistake and I assume was very honest about that with Fred, since they came to this decision. Charles stuck with ISU through thick and thin and I'll always respect that about him.

Best wishes Charles. It's too bad this had to happen.

I wonder what would the meltdown look like if GMac was still here...
Could it been any worse than it already was? Sentiment was running 75-25 that we needed plan B. If McD was here, Booze might have remained like a CC. CU Later was our Plan B.

I think we need a juco at this point. We are looking pretty green on the group so far.

Five schollies left to lose to go till bball season. Note to Coach: keep recruiting. You never know when you need to make another offer.

Can you spell Newbie? Freddy and the Newbies.

So this means DG will be the first 4-year player since Rahshon Clark. I think that was part of why everyone like Booze so much, because of his longevity with the program when everyone else was jumping ship. I hope he bounces back quickly cause deep down, he's a good kid.

Someone better put a padlock on DG. Bball is a long time off. AKA Mike Taylor.

Time to find some players FH and TJ!

Down to 9 + Bubu right now with Dendy having academic challenges to address and the rumor of Oliver health problems.

Wish the best for Charles... not many who can own up to their mistakes. He really seemed like he wanted to be here and help out ISU's program anyway he could. Unfortunately it just takes one poor decision. But if he can get back on track... I'm sure he'll do just fine in life!

“I want to apologize for my actions that put Iowa State University in a negative light,â€￾ Boozer said. “I have decided that the best course action right now is to finish my semester and then seek treatment. Coach Hoiberg and I had a long talk last night and he agrees it would be in my best interest to seek my release from Iowa State and take care of some of the problems I have been dealing with. I want to thank Iowa State and the Ames Community for all the great support the last the three seasons. No matter what, I will always be a Cyclone.â€￾

Wow. For a kid who never caused an ounce of trouble before, that is rather unexpected, and extreme
