Once again, it feels like Casey's strategy is just to get bigger, without addressing how far they've slipped.

Gotta make that money now before Kwik Star takes over. Casey’s will still have small towns that they’ll continue to dominate. But they don’t hold a candle to KS in terms of cleanliness and convenience. Pizza is the only thing that Casey’s has an advantage and there’s plenty of options for that in bigger towns and cities.

You mean until Buc ee's takes over. Quick Star is good, but nowhere near Buc ees. It's only a matter of time. Buc-ees is the Wal Mart of Gas and food stations.

Buc ee’s are too big to take over. They work on interstates, but not in cities in Iowa. They’re just not convenient for every day like grabbing a gallon of milk because they have to be located away from neighborhoods.

Buc-ee's isn't going to stray away from their strategic interstate locations. Honestly, they are more of a tourist attraction than anything. Stopping at Buc-ee's is a huge pain in the a$$.

When I was in Alabama they were actually talking about doing the exact opposite of what you were saying and even had a news report that Buc-ees was going to be getting into the smaller stores off the interstate. I imagine it would be just them taking over a bunch already in place.

If Casey's had the chicken strips they used to have, you could probably make a case for that being better than or equal to KS as well....but they took it away and now, it's not even close.

Kwik Star’s chicken strips are really good. But they are expensive.

So what’s the draw then? I’ve only been to Buc Ee’s a couple of times, but there’s nothing that’s special other than you’ll never have to wait for a pump. Their food was OK, but below both Casey’s and Kwik Star. And without the scale, will it be worse because you can’t keep it fresh like you can with the high volume stores?

I mean if they put out a smaller footprint yeah sure. But then are they really a Buc-ee's? Their whole existence/business model is built on being huge and over the top.
