People act like it's tough to be a decent person and study with your University provided tutor. It's pretty basic stuff.
You can think of a million things a 19 year old kid could do besides putting other peoples lives at risk? I can’t.
I know the answer but don’t want to offend people. Why do people need to know? It's in the best interest for the players if the public isn't in the know of their mistakes
Dealing with 18-22 year old basketball players isn’t easy, but Prohm’s job is to get his best players to play, and play well.
Maybe I just overvalue how bad a DUI/OWI is but unless you are failing out of school there isn't anything worse that I wouldn't kick them off the team for. If they are being a cancer or something you get them away from the team.I can think of a million things worse to your team than an OWI. OWI is 3 games because that's the rules at ISU
I know the answer but don’t want to offend anyone. Why do fans think they deserve to know why players are suspended?
I could be wrong, but I believe internal drug tests are treated as a medical situation and are kept confidential by law. So if they failed a drug test, Prohm isn't allowed to tell the media that. It's the same reason it was never publicly stated why Jacob Park was suspended (failed likely multiple internal drug tests). All coaches can say in that situation is something vague like "Violation of Team Rules".I fully expect to get all the dislikes and disagree but this is crazy. I get you have to set a standard for your program, but expand on why you are sitting kids for a month. I get Lard but what did Talley do?
There were no arrests so are you suspending them for missing class, late for practice, smoking weed?
This just all seems extremely harsh. DUI’s you miss a few games. Show me another program that suspends kids for an entire month.
Fighting with a teammate, skipping practice, etc is a lot more "detrimental" to the team than getting an OWI yes

This is in reference to McKay?
Anyone know why?
Why do fans think they deserve to know why players are suspended?
One factor in this is the amount of money fans spend to go watch games. Think also about the fans who have spent a ton of money on going to Maui. The trip itself would be good enough for me if I was going, but I'd also be a bit annoyed that we're being handicapped by what seems to be ridiculously long suspensions with absolutely no reason given.
College basketball is big business. Fans spend big money to watch their team and it isn't just about watching them on the court, they want to see winning basketball. I mean, we're talking about 2 guys who are expected to be huge contributors being suspended for about 25% of the season.
Fault isn’t terribly relevant.Man I don't know how you can blame McKay's issues on Prohm. I can't remember one person blaming Fred for BDJ if you want to compare
This is dumb
Fantastic response, loaded with succinct debating points.
