Fazoli's are great. Had them for the first time in a long time at before the spring game. Is Ames the only place that you have to go back and ask for more vs. them bringing them around table to table?
Usally i just order them with my meal. But thats here in Des Moines

Little Caesar's breadsticks are el terrible, which matches up with the rest of their menu quite nicely.

I have never had those before, mainly because I don't want to feel like any idiot when I say "smotherella" when I order them... :biglaugh::wink:

That's why you've got to go with the worker lingo: Smothers.

Also, I've never understood why people rave about Pokey Stix. Greasy with a flavor that just kills you after a couple bites.

And what do you classify smotherella stix as? They both need to come with Lipitor.

Reminds me of one of the convenience stores in Jefferson many years ago. I'd always stop in prior to playing softball and get an order of breadsticks with jalapeno cheese sauce. God, I miss those days

Little Ceasars is the only place I go to eat just for the bread stix (crazy bread). Olive garden and fazolis are good but they are just a bonus, not the star of the show.

Smotherella Stix > Pokey Stix

Ah, see, I disagree. Smotherella Stix are very good, but when Pokey Stix are done right, they're perfection. (However, there is a lot of inconsistency in how they're cooked, and it's easy to get a bad batch of Pokey Stix.) They're one of the things I miss most about not living in Ames.

I'll tell you the ones I hate are from Papa Johns. No taste. You definitely have to use one of their sauces.

Surprisingly I like ones that are in the cold meat counter/deli area at Walmart. They are in a cardboard box and you have to cook them in the oven. They are greasy and delicious.
Their regular breadsticks suck. That's why whenever I got breadsticks from there I got the Parmesan breadsticks. Those were better, especially dipped in the garlic or cheese sauce.
