yesterday I was going to my grandmothers house near chicago and drove by best buy. at 1:00pm on thanksgiving there were already a dozen or so tents out front at at least 30-40 people. is that really even worth it? IMO my time and not sitting out in the cold all thanksgiving is worth the extra $100 you'll save on whatever. crazy people I tell ya..... CRAZY!! today is the worst

I have the same feelings about Black Friday. It is worth the extra $100-200 to me to be able to compare products, shop around some, and sleep that Friday.

I've never done it and probably never will.

Heck go shopping the week of Christmas. No crowds and still good deals.

That or wait until February when everything is on clearance.

I'm usually up by 5am anyway so it's worth it to me to stand in line for a 1/2 hour to get deal on stuff I would buy anyway. I left about 4:30 and got home by 6:30. A couple hundred dollars in savings is worth 2 hours of my time that would be unproductive anyway.

For as busy as Target was I thought everyone seemed pretty decent.

Just did the internet savings on a couple movies as well.

The trick I've found is find someone you know how is already doing black friday and just have them do it for you...still get the deal and can still be sleeping at the same time.

8:15 and I just got up, having a cup of coffee reading CF. Well rested, warm and just ordered a gift on line. I love the internet!

+1

My goal is to not step foot in a retail store this year. And I'm well on my way.

What kind of TV did ya get?

Nothing monstrous, I picked up a 42 inch Hitachi LCD for $600.

Got it brought inside and went back to bed. I'll probably get it set up this afternoon. I'm waiting on the wife to decide if we want to wall mount it like the 32 it's replacing. If we do then I'm headed out to get a new wall mount and I need a new HDMI cord.

You have gone 10 months without going to a retail store? Don't you occasionally want to browse? Test things out? Try things on?
Do you seriously order light bulbs and stuff like that on line?

As for browsing, trying stuff on, etc. I'm a man - so no.
