Best Potato Salad When/Where?

There was a nice old lady by the name of Grace Jungling that made the potato salad for my parents' yearly client appreciation supper. Best potato salad EVAHHHHHHHHH!
My grandmother's/mom's. Potatoes, carrots, Helleman's. That's it. None of this mustard, none of this hard-boiled egg. It's what potato salad should be - potatoes.
My mother uses red potatos, mustard, mayo, adobo, cayenne pepper...and deviled eggs. It's the only type of potato salad I'll eat. You can keep your pickle relish, potato salad snobs.
This thread is going to derail very quickly. Let's just face it - everyone's own mother makes the world's best potato salad, and no one is going to convince anyone else otherwise.
That's pretty much the bottom line. Potato salad really seems to be something that everyone grew up with and while they will tolerate someone else's, they prefer the type they had when growing up.
My Mom's - No Mayo in it has bacon and is PURE 100% GERMAN. SHe got the recipe from my grandmother who has since passed away, god bless her. I have gone to numerious places and asked for german potato salad and got .......Garbage. Hessen House is one, that I was really disapointed with. I figured since they so "proclaim" that they serve German Cusine when its actually some German but with alot of american flavors.
There is no pickles, no tomatoes, nothing of that in it. It has potatoes, bacon, and celery, vinager, salt, sugar, oil in it and a few extra german loving in it
