Pretty interesting game coming up tomorrow. aTm (12-2) heads to UT (11-3) with all kinds of conference implications at stake. KU sits at 13-2 with one game remaining vs. UT at home, UT plays aTm at home then travels to KU, and aTm has to travel to UT then has Mizzou at home. Essentially, if UT were to win both vs. aTm and @ KU, and aTm loses @ UT and wins vs. Mizzou, we have a 3 way 13-3 conference tie between UT, aTm, and KU. If I did my tiebreaker analysis correctly...that means UT would be the #1 conference seed since they'd own the tiebreaker vs. KU and split the season series w/ aTm, but took the regular season Big XII record vs. South opponents 8-2 vs. aTm's 7-3.

Now, if I got that all correct (which is suspect at best :laugh8kb:) that means that KU would need UT to win vs. aTm and then would need to beat UT at home in order to go to 14-2, aTM would be 13-3, and UT would be 12-4, making KU the #1 seed. aTm would need to win out and go 14-2, owning a tiebreaker over KU in the event they beat UT to go to 14-2 as well. What's amazing here is that TTU really played the role of a spoiler by taking 2 of 2 against the Aggies which really hurt aTm in their Big 12 south record.

So, all that said...who do you want to win tomorrow night in Austin? If UT wins, aTm essentially can't be the #1 seed. That all but locks it up for KU, provided they take care of business at home vs. UT. However, if UT wins, it opens the door for them to be the #1 seed, provided they drop KU in Lawrence. However, if aTm wins, that locks the #1 seed up for them provided they take care of Mizzou. Since I pretty much hate KU and want to see someone else take the regular season record and #1 seed, I'm really torn on this one. I think aTm has a better chance of winning both games, so I kinda want them to win. However, nothing would please me more than seeing KU have the #1 seed ripped from their hands by a devastating loss to UT at home with that #1 seed on the line. Plus, I just kinda like UT and it would be good to see them win tomorrow to improve their NCAA tourney seeding. So...yeah, I'm stumped. Who ya got?

*Edit* if my analysis is incorrect, just vote/post anyway :) *Edit*

Gosh, my head hurts. I really want A&M to win the Big 12. I love what they've done down there and I think A&M has the best chance of any Big 12 team to win the NCAA tournament.

Should be a great game between the two - I'll be flipping between the ISU-Nebraska game and this game until we're done with Nebraska - then I'll be glued to this one. I'll take A&M, yet I'm not confident. Texas is no slouch.

I'm glad the KU-Texas game is early on Saturday so I can catch it and see ISU handle Tech that evening. :)

Gameday is at the Pitt @ Marquette game this weekend instead of the A&M vs UT game? I guess this was looking better earlier this year though as Marquette has now slipped to 6th in the Big East

Another question is Big 12 tournament. With 3-4 legit teams, the winner of the Big 12 tournament will have to play hard to win all. Then the NCAA comes up fast. Maybe it would be good to lose semifinal for Texas or Kansas or A&M.

I'm taking A&M by 12, but I don't think it will be that close of a game. Acie Law vs. DJ Augustin will be quite the matchup of perhaps the two best point guards in the nation. I think A&M is just a better all around team and will win at UT....or maybe I might be biased because I don't like Texas. Durant may have quite a big game however.

I think A&M has a shot at winning the Big 12, but I am too impressed with KU to think it'll be anyone else. I hated on KU come tournament time last year because they looked too scrappy to be able to accomplish anything, but a year later, Kansas really does look like it has what it takes to go to the Final Four. They are good.

However, I couldn't stand seeing Kansas winning a national title, so I'd rather root for A&M. Go Aggies! :)

hey Wesley, it is Okoboji not Okiboji, just an FYI. Are you meaning that EIU is fictional and nobody graduates from there like Okoboji U? If so I concur.

Call me ridiculous, but I still don't think Kansas is that good of a team. In my opinion, that team centers around Julian Wright, who I believe is a great ball player, but I think come tournament time (maybe not Big XII time, but NCAA tourney), he'll be soft because he is a less agressive/killer instinct player, in my opinion. I think players like Tyler Hansborough, Joakim Noah, etc. will roughen him up and get him off his game. I'm not saying that Kansas is a bad team, but I think they are overrated and have been all year. Wright is good, Rush is streaky, they are good running with Chalmers and Sherron Collins, and Arthur is decent. I know I might get some replies saying that the above is a great roster, but watching Kansas I haven't been as impressed as a 3 seed.

Lost to Oral Roberts and DePaul, almost to us, and Missouri and Oklahoma, and I the only ranked teams they have beaten all year are USC and Florida, barely.....

Just my opinion, I don't think Kansas is going to make a solid tournament team....

Well I don't agree w/ that b/c Florida won the SEC tourney last year and ended up winning the tourney. It is better to be on a roll than to not be

The A&M vs UT game is Thursday night. The UT @ KU game is Saturday. Maybe the gameday crowd didn't want to go to Lawrence. Could you blame them?
