ESPN SOR has Cyclones in top 5 ahead of any SEC teams, BYU is at 3.

Iowa way down at 32, @Gonzo

Weren't we recently discussing this somewhere?

Sagarin also had Iowas SOS going from 9th to 20th this week, as I predicted. (but they did move up in those ranks with the win, which I didnt.) I dont know if ISU SOS will move ahead of Iowa, in the sag but the trend is moving that way as I suggested.

To be fair Iowa did win impressively this week, although Cade still only had 108 yards.

If you're going to use Sagarin SoS rankings don't you have to use Sagarin's overall rankings? The SoS rankings are based on those overall team rankings I'm pretty sure.

I believe we argued both the SoS, and the overall rank there. You were saying that Iowas SOS was all the way up at 9th in the Sag, I said that that had peaked for Iowa with them playing OSU and would obviously drop.

I believe you also said Iowa would be ISUs best team they played I think, and right now KSU is above Iowa.

Basically I said Iowas SOS would trend down, I also assumed they would lose a couple more games so they would move lower in the overall rankings, which I admit was wrong up to this point.

But as far as SOR, it is nice to see ISUs very high, when people love to claim we havent played anyone. Matter of fact I just saw an Iowa fan on a FB article (about ISU, cuz rent free) saying ISU is only good because the good teams left the B12.

Probably discussing it in the Instate forum?

I don’t give a rat’s puckered behind about Iowa.

I did say Iowa's SoS was "currently at 9" and agreed it would go down after tOSU.

I did say Iowa was the best team ISU has "played", by a lot. I never said Iowa would end up being ISU's best opponent on the season, not sure where you got that.

I agreed that Iowa's SoS would trend down, which it has. Still hanging at 20 which isn't bad.

I don't really know anything about SOR but it should be obvious to anyone that ISU is putting together a very good season. There's not really any denying that having UT and OU out of the conference clears a nice path, but I think you guys would probably handle OU this year.

Honestly I think out of all the former B12 members, the only one I would be really worried about is UT, none are gimmees but I cant say any are more difficult than say KSU or UU, or probably even WVU. I think we would probably be favored against all the rest. OU, NU, MU, aTm, I think we would be favored in all those at this point.

Going back to 2017 ISU has handled OUT very well. In those 7 years those teams were ranked 12 out of the 15 times we played them (with an average ranking of #12.6). In that span we went 5-10 (2-6 vs OU and 3-4 vs TX). Yes, a losing record but take away one 30 pt blow out game against OU and those other 14 games played were decided by an average of 2.4 points. I think everyone wants to talk about how easier our conference is without OUT but TX was hardly competitive during that time and we were clearly right there with OU.

The selection committee doesn't give a rats ass about this statistic because it doesn't help them. They care about what the TV networks want.

I’m disappointed the playoff rankings don’t start for a few weeks. I swear in 2020 they started in October.

Outside of three teams in the Big 10 add two or three in the SEC, not very impressed with either league as a whole. But of course that doesn’t show up in the rankings.
this is especially true when you weigh in how resourced they are compared to the other leagues.

Losses in the Big 10 and SEC are quality losses because those two conferences are "meat grinders" even though the three best teams mostly don't play each other.
you mean like the Big 12 always was with 9 of the 10 teams power ranked in the top 40 every pretty much every year,

It starts in November. And, obviously, I meant that I thought the rankings in 2020 in most of October (i.e. not the last couple of days).
