Disagree with this, 1 loss will get it over 2 loss big 12. Oregon's schedule looks favorable but maybe someone will get them. Likely face OSU again in the championship game.Sorry, bad writing.
I meant if Boise State’s only loss is a close one to an undefeated Oregon then I think a 1-loss Boise State could get the #4 seed over a 1-loss Big 12 champion, depending on the circumstances.

Obviously I hope you’re right, but I’m not confident a 1-loss Texas Tech gets the nod over Boise State. I believe they compare common opponents.I know we all have our tinfoil hats on with the committee, but there is absolutely no way that Boise State in the Mountain West, which is the third best G5 and not even close to the Sun Belt or American, is getting ranked above a 1-loss Big 12 champion. 0 percent chance.
This might be wrong, as I can’t follow all the threads here, but there is a term that seems conspicuously absent when talking about the 6-0 Cyclones:If we can take care of business and beat UCF on Saturday like we're supposed to, we'll head into a bye week with a 7-0 record and at least two more weeks of being a top 10 ranked team.
That would be huge for this program!
The AP Poll means nothing. In that scenario, TT would have two top 15 wins (ISU, Big 12 CG opponent). Their SOS and SOR would be better than Boise State by a significant margin. It's not happening.Obviously I hope you’re right, but I’m not confident a 1-loss Texas Tech gets the nod over Boise State. I believe they compare common opponents.
Things would change under that scenario, but both teams are 5-1 right now and Boise State is #15 in the AP poll. Tech isn’t ranked.
That game at UNLV will be spicyNone of this matters because Boise will lose another game.
CMC was totally right, relevant programs don't care about bowl eligibility because it is just a given and not a goal. Our goals are much higher, and very much achievable from where se stand. Nobody cares that our floor for the end of the year is a ****** trip to Memphis. This might be wrong, as I can’t follow all the threads here, but there is a term that seems conspicuously absent when talking about the 6-0 Cyclones:
Bowl Eligible
Maybe Coach Campbell wasn’t as unrealistic with his “******** programs” line as I thought at the time?

We fans are getting our 10-win season. We fans may get our conference title. I’m a grown man, but the thought of this gives me goosebumps. For sure. And you know the coaches and players don't give a **** about 6 wins.
But it is good for us at fans to appreciate the fact that getting to 6 wins is traditionally a pretty big deal for our football program. Think of how many years we haven't gotten to 6 wins or we've been trying to get that 6th win well into November.
Being a fan can be hard and heartbreaking at times, so I'm sure as hell going to enjoy the little things too.
Yep and I'd say pretty good odds they'll have to beat them twice to get in.That game at UNLV will be spicy
We're not very sexy in terms of public perception. We're just incredibly consistent.National talking heads still don’t give ISU much credit. A little talk about ISU today but most talk is how the league is wide open, which is true. Most seem to think KSU is the ultimate champ. And I want to keep it that way.
This is exactly why a poll voter's job should be to rank each team's resume so far on the season NOT to move teams up or down based on just last week's performance. That top 10 last second win that moved you up at the beginning of the season might just be a squeaker against a sub .500 team by the latter half of the season and there is no reason you should be making hay off of something that wasn't what everyone thought at the time. That headscratching loss to a team picked to finish in the middle of their conference may turn out to be a "good loss" to a team that is vying for their conference title. That’s the advantage of taking the losses when you do. Early season losses are always better when the quality of teams is very much in flux.
You can micro manage any of the ratings to get them to say just about anything you want
Pointing out officiating mistakes on plays that were called correctly - repeatedly. Rocco clearly got the first down; the DPI was clearly DPI, not OPI; snap was on the hash and Rocco threw the ball away 6 or more yards outside the hash so was outside the tackle box - not intentional grounding. I think he eventually figured out that defensive holding is not negated by an uncatchable ball. You're not wrong, but he was going way over the top, pointing out officiating mistakes and trying to correlate how they changed the game. It wasn't necessary for him to keep bringing up the subject.
Respectfully, I cannot wrap my head around this thinking. For sure. And you know the coaches and players don't give a **** about 6 wins.
