I'd take Sage over Meyer, tough call on Seneca just because of his explosiveness.
Seneca was so much better then Meyer. Meyer only had 1 good year (sophomore year). After that he was average. Seneca is 1 of the best QB that i have ever seen when he roles out and has to throw across his body.

That said, i would take Sage over Seneca.

I know these two players were only at ISU for a short period of time, but what about Bret Oberg for QB and Steve Lester as a wide receiver? Seriously, check out Lester's stats -- 200 in receiving yards against Oklahoma for example.

And I think Oberg's passing stats were pretty good considering he was only there two years.

Also, wasn't David Archer a pretty good QB as well? And Tom Randall as a lineman. Geary Murdoch was a first team all-Big Eight lineman. Mike Strachan was a very good running back -- rushed for over 1,200 yards against

And he was way overused and was pretty lazy in practice, but Dwayne Crutchfield was a pretty decent running back.

Blaise Bryant had a great junior year and then the injury in the second game against Minnesota his senior year slowed him down.

Mike Stensrud as a defensive tackle along with Tom Boskey. Keith Schroeder was a first team all-Big 8 linebacker.

Walter Grant was a heck of a quarterback, and Ike Harris was a fine receiver.

There are a lot of ISU All-Americans who haven't even been mentioned.

Hawarden
Lorenzo White OL

Darren Davis RB

And for sentimental or wild card performer you have to go with "Marvelous" Marv Seiler.

I also believe Ty Stewart was the best kicker for ISU of all time, I mean the guy was automatic and our only offense for a couple of years. He's also a helluva golfer and a great guy to play 18 at Veenker with.

Also another question, what offense are we running? Single-Wing, Wing T, Wishbone, Triple Option, Spread, Pro-Style, etc. Iowa State has employed I believe almost every style of of offensive scheme over the years.

Meyer shouldn't be on the list, Rosenfels was better. Blythe and Danielson are starting recievers. Moser, Hobbs, and Paris are all in the backfield. Those guys weren't the most talented but they worked there butts off day in and day out.

Brett Who?

QBs - Sage, Seneca, David Archer, George Amundson (also a running back at ISU and the pros), Tim Van Galder, Dean Carlson,

TE - Keith Krepfle, Pat Curran, Al Dixon, Mike Busch, Dan Johnson, Mike Banks

A good list of ISU NFL players is here http://www.pro-football-reference.com/colleges/iowast/drafted.htm

However that list does miss players like DB Larry Crawford who was a CFL all star in 83, 84, 86, 87.
