Will he ever make a funny movie again? I feel like it has been nearly a decade since he made something that I thoroughly enjoyed.

We were just talking about that last night. The really funny thing is, he makes some serious cash making terrible movies and I'm pretty sure he's content with that. His early stuff was really good though. It was a combination of me being younger and him being funnier that made his movies seem so much better.

anymore it seems like his movies are just an excuse for him to get a paycheck for all of his buddies, who'd never see an acting role if it weren't for him.

Grownups wasn't a great movie but it was pretty good imo. I'm not a great judge of movies though since I don't see many and I never go in first run theaters. i also have never seen his early stuff.
I think he just churns them out cause its his production company and they keep any profits. Even if the only make 10 mil profit a movie twice a year, on top of them getting paid, it pays the bills. I wish the movie going public would figure out that hiss movies aren't getting better. Jackn Jill? Seriously? people paid to see that, or bought it on DVD?

I'm going to this one with my dad and brother. I think it looks good. I agree for the most part his recent movies have been on the down side. Part of that is that he like all of us eventually has to grow up. He has married and has kids so I think that's why he has gone down the family movie route (watching click as I type this which wasn't bad). That's why this new movie looks like is reaching into his sophomoric humor past.
I thought that movie was excellent and I had hoped he would make a transition to more of that type of acting. I thought he was great in his role there.
Im a big fan of Sandler...I also think alot of his "buddies" are funny too. Peter Dante just acts like a straight ****** and that makes him funny. I guess it all matters on what kind of comedy you are in to.
