I'm baffled by his popularity as well. He was kind of the first NFL guy to have a zany personality in this media age, I guess, and the fact he was a punter? I don't know, I don't think he adds much to Gameday.
Get used to him.

They're obviously getting ready to build GameDay around him. It's the natural thing for Herbstreit to give up with the new NFL gig and Corso is going to have a greatly reduced (pre-taped at home) role going forward. Des and Pollack don't have the personality to be the guy so...

Pat (and the WWE) wouldn't have gone down this path if he wasn't going to be the star.

I actually think the FOX pre-game has potential but it's hard to unseat the show with a 25 year head start.

They just need to retire Corso. Have a big retirement at the end of the season, and move on. Nobody wants to see Corso headgear picks from the bed of his assisted living facility.

I don't like FOX as a network but watch their pregame on Saturday because I can't stand Herbstreit and Pat. I will get downvoted again for saying this, but Pat comes across as the biggest sleazeball douchebag in the universe. I don't like his over the top style, it's so grating - like nails on an anus.

I like Pat McAfee as a badass punter and kicker that would actually take out return men. Plus his time on Bob and Tom regularly. They helped him build this new career. But this clip is the longest I've watched of him since B&T days.

I really enjoy Pat in small doses but his show has gotten to be a little much. I can't do 3 hours of catch phrases and seeing how uncomfortable AJ Hawk can make everyone when he's even the slightest bit challenged on an opinion.

His WWE work is really good though and I'm willing to give his version of the ManningCast a chance...

Lazard is on a contract year- would like to see him get a little more production in the receiving game. Through 2 game he hasn't had much (I know he has 2 TDs in both games)

I'd imagine the Packers would try to keep him around after this year but Lazard did say on the podcast he did with CW that he'd want a contract that could set him up for the rest of his life being he only wants to play 8-10 years.
He is on 16 TD pace...that's not bad!

Next year does not appear to be a good year for free agent WRs.

Hopefully Lazard can have a good year and get some options on where to sign.

Lazard is fun to watch. He is active almost every play. I bet DBs hate him because he is such a big bully. His blocking for a receiver is second to none.

The offense always seems to live and die when he is in. They were awful when he was hurt. They’ve been pretty decent since he is back.

He is never going to be your stat stuffer but I think coaches are smart enough to understand his value. I wish they would throw to him more often though.
I get some of it. Why not get it to another receiver and have one of the best blocking WR in the league blocking for him for YAC. But when Aaron needs a play on 3rd down he is often looking for Lazard. He knows he will make the catch and that he will make sure he has the necessary yardage. They just need the catch; the YAC would just be a bonus.

He should get 8 figures of guaranteed money. And that will set him up for the ever. In 12 months time, his grandchildren's lives will become significantly altered.

Is the snaps percentage this season, last season or what?

If this season that is seriously skewed at this point since Lazard missed a game due to injury.

The only person mentioned at length in this thread that I like is Lazard, and I’m a Packers fan.

Maybe if I drank hallucinogenic beverages to down my dewormer while tanning my perineum, dumped my family, and held my employer captive on my possible retirement or other departure in a Favre redux every year, I might feel differently.

I can't say that I've seen an ISU player that I enjoy watching more in the pros. He dropped a lot of balls at ISU and has seemingly gotten over that. You pretty much know he's making every catch now. But the blocking is just so good. He just bullies DBs. And he'll seal the edge against DEs and LBs as well. I don't know that he'll ever be a true WR1, just because he isn't going to get open against the best DBs or have the deep speed to really burn guys. But, his overall game has to be incredibly valuable to an offense.
