Is it still cool to rock rubbers?

I have a 25 year old pair old Merrill slip on tan suede. I have worn rubbers over them. i dont wear to work but to the store and mail and such. Longest lasting shoes I ever had. 100 dollar shoes and 15 dollar rubbers. Saved the salt wet and snow from everything else and they slip on!

When I was up in NY it was either my trail runners or my work boots (Red Wing lace-ups, which I spend about 90% of my time in anyways).

If it was really nasty out I had some water proof hiking boots I'd go with.

Shoveling I brought out the insulated muck boots.

Goretex hikers normally. This is what I’m in now in a different color. Not nearly as bulky as a normal work boot.

Had a pair of these recently but they were absolute garbage as a boot.

I wear Keen hiking boots from the middle of October until it dries out in the Spring. I hate getting soggy shoes.

I shovel snow in my old Doc Martin boots. Other than that I wear my various Nike tennis shoes in the snow.

We literally have the same taste in shoes. I have a pair of Doc Martens slide-on shoes that I wear into the office on a regular basis, and a pair of steel-toed Doc Martens that I wear in the shop on days that require that, and they're so comfortable I don't have an issue wearing them into the office on snowy days. That being said, I'll run my snowblower in a pair of Nikes.

I have some mid hiking boots/shoes that I actually got for a backpacking trip last summer that are waterproof/leather and work great overall.

I have Keen Brixen Lo. Insulated, waterproof but kind of clunky. Really comfortable and slip ons.

On days when it's really snowy and not plowed everywhere, what footwear do you wear to work or out to eat?

My tennis shoes have mesh on them so I don't want to wear those.
My dress shoes have leather soles so there is no grip and I don't want them to get ruined.
My snow boots are all rubber and go up far on my leg so not those.
What type of shoe do you wear to walk around in snow piles when you can't wear big bulky snow boots?
Sounds like you need a pair of mens dress boots.
They have the protection of regular boots, but look like a casual shoe once your pants cover the top part. They also have the rubber sole to provide traction.
Something like this:

I have a pair of ArticCat Snowmobile boots that I wear out to shovel and blow snow. I alway wear a pair of Nike dri fit sweat pant also. I have a pair of Carhartt bibs but just to damn lazy to spend 10 minutes to put everything on and sweat to death outside.

I bought my Doc Martins in 2000 with my NCAA Clothing Fund money (when they were new and cool) and now they are still in good shape and are my snow/work boots.

I can't get my Docs to last that long simply because I completely wear out the rubber soles or I'll break something on the inside. The leather is still perfectly good, but the shoes become unwearable nonetheless.

Maybe I'm having more difficulty since I wear sport coats a lot to work and I can't really wear Doc Martens with that type of outfit.
I wear my waterproof boots on the way to work & then change into dress shoes once I'm in my parking garage.
