For all those saying they will donate less or go to less games, just want to say I don't blame you

College sports can be fun entertainment, and I enjoy cheering on ISU, but I would never donate $s to NIL. Even if college sports stopped tomorrow, investing in your own future or donating to charities is better use of $s
I'm not sure what it is, but I used to always be obsessed with college FB. From the time I was a kid it was always my favorite sport.

Now for some reason every once in a while I watch the seriousness of the coaches, players, talking heads and fans and can't help but think aliens or time travelers would see this and not be able to comprehend the ridiculousness of people obsessing over young men running around in armor and ridiculous looking costumes ramming in to each other with the likes of overgrown children like Kirby Smart and Dabo Swinney being looked at as thought leaders and role models.

My group has 4 seats at gold level, so if I'm mathing this out right it's going to about $120 increase individually. Not bad for me since I'm the only one in my family who has a season ticket, but if you're buying season tickets for your whole family it could be a big hit to the budget.

One thing that seems unclear here, at least to me, is that just because a Revenue sharing model is coming our way, that doesn't necessarily kill off NIL. It seems both will now become potential revenue streams for athletes. The Univeristy will share $20-30MM in revenue annually with athletes, but just because there is a cap there, athletes seemingly can still earn NIL dollars outside of their athletic performance, no? The NFL has their salary cap, but athletes still discount double check their endorsement contracts. Unless the University tells athletes your NIL now becomes our AD revenue, so we can fund revenue sharing across the board, which seems unlikely. Also seems like a nice loophole for those wealthier schools to afford to attract bigger talent because sure our revenue share is capped by the NCAA, but our NIL team will put your face on a car dealership billboard and for that endorsement you could receive $X in NIL.
Did a quick Google search and found this article that agrees Revenue Sharing and NIL will still be in a gray area going forward: https://frontofficesports.com/schools-are-scrambling-to-prepare-for-the-ncaa-revenue-sharing-era/
Also, this is an excerpt from the above link: "If the proposal is finalized in April, each school could begin sharing between $20 million and $30 million in revenue with players as early as July 1, 2025. Schools aren’t required to participate—but if they do, they have to provide revenue-sharing dollars to all the athletes in their departments."

Precisely, it will move in house until $21 million limit and then... more, MOAR, must keep up to stay competitive. The WeWill is not going away, its being absorbed until its needed again.

Duh!
The NLI was intended for schools fund their own NLI from their revenue and TV contracts - not ask donors for more money. Jamie has finessed the system and instead of using money that we have - let's ask fans to pay more and let's take away experiences from our other programs by reducing their budgets. - dumb!
Yup. It’s just Jamie screwing fans…

Agree.

I dropped my lower end CC membership, bball and fb season tix 2 years ago after 12 years. (btw you are all welcome, because I knew they'd win freaking everything once I was out).

Mostly I dropped because I wasn't making all the games from CR, and not tailgating at all anymore (kids busy, gf hates cold and sports, etc). Just more work that it was worth. It wasn't cost, I certainly have the disposable income.

But whenever I tried to sell tickets... lol. Gave away more than I ever sold. Maybe get $20 for a pair of bball tickets, but more often than not they went unused. Football? LOFL. Never able to sell any, ever, in 12 years. They just went unused. Think I missed 3 games entirely in 2022, and one game I went by myself (4 seats to myself).

For me, picking up a couple good seats for a game or two saves money, sure. What it really saves me is the hassle of trying to get rid of tickets or feeling like I'm pissing money away not using them.
Somewhat true for football, but we have no problem selling basketball tickets. The early season games we are lucky to get $20 each but conference weekend games are an easy sell for way over face value. We are close enough to walk to fb games and it is crazy what people pay for A3 parking passes. Pretty much paid for our 2 season tickets.
