Christian Carroll is “committed” to Wyoming. That leads us to believe he’s going heavyweight. 4 years of eligibility remaining. Posted in the wrong thread earlier.

Maxx Mayfield from northwestern is going to Missouri to finish out his last year at 165

How does he have 4 years ? He already redshirted at OKST and then bailed last year in what was his RS FR season. Why would this past year not count against his eligibility?

His last match was December 15th and he only wrestled 10 matches and only 5 dates. He isn't guaranteed a medical year because he wouldn't have applied for it yet, but I'm he meets the criteria so he is all but assured to get it. There are a lot of reasons to say you couldn't compete it seems like these days.

Interesting that just based on that we can assume a medshirt eligible season.. wild

Meanwhile Stephanie Soares was denied a medical year not long ago after tearing her ACL..
  • The injury or illness must be season-ending.
  • The injury must occur in the first half of the season.
  • The athlete must not have competed in more than 30% of the season’s competitions (rounded up when necessary).
  • Documentation from a qualified medical professional is required.
For most kids and coaches they have a very good idea if they would qualify for one or not. This is why you see these guys continue to wrestle on a torn up knee late in the season and others, like Bastida AE Swiderski Carroll, call it quits early on. They meet the requirements

I don't remember hearing about a Carroll injury. Only rumors about off the mat or not being able to cut weight. What injury?

Not counting Brayden Thompson, Oklahoma state has 41 guys on their roster right now on wrestle stat. Good luck to all those kids as they get swept under the rug
