Def a bummer with the whole situation with him IMO, as he keeps bouncing around fewer are willing to give him more chances…Where we wanted him at 97 wasn’t gonna work and that stinks but hope he finds a landing spot and succeeds and enjoys it…
With him being one of the “lighter” HWT and being some miscast and wanting to grow the sport of wrestling do you think we ever get traction to have a 220# weight class?

215 would be darn close to the 97 kg international class, so I think that would make a ton of sense.

While we are on the subject... The Olympics taking away 4 weights while having break dancing, etc is horsemanure. The gap from 74 kg to 86kg is most heinous.
the most annoying part is that the reason thats given for the limited number of weights is the # of medals. We could get rid of the double bronze, which is stupid anyway, and add two weights + still have the same total number of medals.

Would wan't him in Ames, but not sure on the fit. I guess if he could make 174 for another year (doubt it) then MJ could get that knee cleaned up and take a medical. Then Thompson could go up after Dean is gone. Seems like a stretch though and he'd be able to go 184 right away elsewhere. Just know we have the Perry connection and I think we were probably chatting with him last year during the coaching change.
