Adjusting for tee boxes, yes. They have amazing short games and their driving accuracy is incredible. The distance differences are huge, though. Keeping the rough forgiving would probably be an advantage for the men, not the women.
True, the women are more accurate, but I have yet to see one power one out of a thick lie from 200+ yards, and the guys do that fairly routinely

It would be interesting to see. If you take length out of the game could it be competitive.

I think the PGA/LPGA is doing a mixed pairs event next year

At this juncture I think we are 3 Golds behind. Also thought I heard there are 8 Golds awarded in track and field alone today. Anybody have a handle on how many events the Chinese have left that they are in contention for? I'd bet on the US.

China leads 37-33 right now (through the 8:00 table tennis final).

Relevant gold-medal events today:
10:00 - Women's soccer - USA vs Brazil
12:35 - Women's 100 hurdles - USA has 3 of top 4 finalists
2:00 - Men's 4x400 - probably between USA and Botswana
2:14 - Women's 4x400 - probably between USA and Netherlands
2:30 - Men's basketball - USA vs France
3:34 - Women's boxing 75kg - China vs Panama

There are also a couple of other events where the finalists haven't been determined/listed yet.

USA got lucky with that goal in my opinion. Swanson was clearly onside, but I've watched enough soccer to have seen that be blown dead because Smith was offside and "interfered with the play" by initially running at that first pass. I don't agree with it, but that was my first thought on the play
