Rowdy Gaines. And yeah he is very good tooI've always thought the guy that does swimming events was incredible. No idea who it is, and I only hear him every 4 years. But when I turn on a race and that guy is doing his thing.....phenomenal.

Just watched the 4x1. The interviewer needs a throat punch. The lead off guy is trying to not crap on Kenny but the interviewer keeps asking him what the problem was.
My wife and I said the same thing! Felt like an MTV show more than OlympicsI won't question their athleticism or effort but I feel like I'm watching something on MTV 20-30 years ago.
Yeah that was pretty dumb. Just kept asking him when he said what he was going to say. Props to him for remaining calm and not throwing Kenny under the busJust watched the 4x1. And yet, somehow the USA women’s 4x100 wins gold (even with the slightest little wobble on the final exchange).I think USA Track & Field needs to rethink how they pick the 4x100 runners. Just like the USA men's basketball no longer picks the 12 best but selects for the best team; USA Track & Field needs to select for the best relay team and not the four or five fastest runners. USA has botched hand offs in the last 4 or 5 Olympics. USA Track & Field needs to select sprinters that are willing to work on baton exchanges and commit to being together for 12 to 18 months. Even if you have the 4 fastest 100m sprinters if they aren't familiar with and practice handoffs with the other 4x100 members, you wont have a good 4x100m relay.
Agree - obviously you'd have to ask about the exchange, he's going to answer, then leave it there.Yeah that was pretty dumb. Just kept asking him when he said what he was going to say. Props to him for remaining calm and not throwing Kenny under the bus
Yep, he asked and got an answer and then kept needlingAgree - obviously you'd have to ask about the exchange, he's going to answer, then leave it there.
Maybe he left too early, but he isn't going to say that openly.
Adjusting for tee boxes, yes. They have amazing short games and their driving accuracy is incredible. The distance differences are huge, though. Keeping the rough forgiving would probably be an advantage for the men, not the women.Watching women’s golf and still think that the women would be pretty competitive with the guys when adjusting with tee boxes, provided that the rough is kept pretty forgiving.
At this juncture I think we are 3 Golds behind. Also thought I heard there are 8 Golds awarded in track and field alone today. Anybody have a handle on how many events the Chinese have left that they are in contention for? I'd bet on the US.Looking more and more like we may need to near sweep the wins in the M & W 4x400 relays, W 100m Hurdles, M & W Hoops, W Volleyball, W Soccer to have a shot at winning the Gold medal count.
If you watch the women's 4x100 relay the baton exchange between Thomas and Richardson was a C- at best. That caused Richardson to have to catch two other runners. If you have the best talent you will normally win and it will cover up mistakes you make. The margin for error in a 4x100 is very small. And yet, somehow the USA women’s 4x100 wins gold (even with the slightest little wobble on the final exchange).
The men are just snakebit with that baton. Which doesn’t mean they shouldn’t work harder at exchanges, they really really do need to practice a lot more.
