Glad you posted this because I’ve heard the ACC counts Ladecky’s medals even though she was last at Stanford like 3 or 4 years ago.

But in all seriousness, if everything that is happening in college sports guts Olympic sports at universities, we are in trouble training future Olympic athletes without a massive spend from the government.

Not exactly sure.
Have no idea how you can deny conclusive evidence at any point. That just means they accepted false evidence the first time.
Conclusive might be partially at issue. USA first claimed 47 seconds, then they said it was 55 shortly after. It hurts you when you change your stuff.

The government should be spending a lot more to help these athletes train.

With NIL elite Olympic sport athletes should have more opportunities at a young age to make money to subsidize their training. I think we are seeing that with wrestling.

The college model may need to change and maybe fewer schools offer 18+ sports. But some colleges may focus on being elite in a small number of sports. Maybe Stanford decides it cares less about football and men's hoops, but wants to be the Olympic training ground for swimming, track & gymnastics. Could end up all the 18 year old elite swimmers go to the 15 universities that build swimming powerhouses.

Oh wait, doesn't that already happen in many Olympic sports.

So are people planning to go to LA in 4 years?
We are. Husband has been yapping about it for years. Wants all the boys to go too. A couple of them have friends in the area but not sure they want a giant family dropping in.

I would be good with the stuff in OK City but husband is an Olympics maniac. He also wants us all going to a World Cup game in 2026. We currently have a couple of kids in Kansas City and one is buying a house so hoping that tickets there aren’t too hard to get.
