Is it more absurd than winning a lawn mower by making 5 3s? There are promotions like this everywhere.
Yes, it is.

Sorry guys, this is a hill I will die on.

Take the example to the extreme... make a shot to win life saving medical care!

Some things should be beyond marketing and chance. Education, to me, is one of those things.

Edit:

in effort to not further derail the thread, I won't respond to further posts.

Make it a cash prize and I have no problem with it.

But it’s not like it’s a make this shot and you’ll get accepted to this school. They’re already going to school. It’s just essentially a $25,000 or so check they’re giving away.

There is NO comparison between a semester of tuition and life saving medical care.

If you want a meaningful comparison, compare a semester of tuition to a lease on a pickup. Both can be used to build a meaningful career/income.

Good idea. This can't go forward without becoming political at this point IMO.

It will come down to what things a person should just have because it should be a given right to all.

The KU "Shoot, everyone can hand out bags of money now?" spiral continues today with a loss at UCF? One can hope.
UCF is a tough place to play and they are an interesting matchup for KU. I wouldn’t say bad matchup, just a very complimentary matchup. They are also coming off their 2 best games of the season.

Will be interesting to see how well the phog refs travel.

And with Belmont being a private school 25K is probably shortchanging the dollar amount.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it seems to me an odd and quite arbitrary hill to die on, especially with the skyrocketing costs of higher education, whether they are artificially inflated or not.

Okay, back to basketball!

Schools give free tuition to athletes who can make half court shots. What's the difference? It's all just entertainment.

Injuries?
Yeah, tucker devries hurt his shoulder. no timeline for his return. i think he had surgery on it during the offseason--so not good. Between his injury and ty watters, my WVU sports watching pleasure has been nipped.

Although devries somehow still has wvu looking better than last, which is where they were picked. Against kansas they were down 2 of their 3 leading scorers. they also lost Jayden stone, who hasnt played at all, to a preseason injury and he was expected to start and have a big impact.

WVU hoops has been a mash unit.

Someone was saying last week that DeVries shoulder has been an ongoing thing that bothered him at Drake too.
