You know, I really feel the pain of these teams after our last season before TJ. It was SOOOO hard to watch. They just couldn't get anywhere on the court. Our "sub-topic" update … winless thru 11/30:
ACC: Louisville (0-7)
CAA: Monmouth (0-8)
Horizon: Green Bay (0-6)
NEC: Central Connecticut State (0-8)
Pac-12: California (0-8)
SWAC: Jackson State (0-6)
Agree. You know, I really feel the pain of these teams after our last season before TJ. It was SOOOO hard to watch. They just couldn't get anywhere on the court.
True on the mid-majors. Cal is rarely relevant on the national scene, but Louisville...that's the big WOW for me.Agree.
It's possible to feel connectivity especially with the P5 teams on the list -- Louisville & Cal - most similar to ISU's skid that season (although we were spared going winless right off the bat).
Not that I feel less empathy for the others, but SWAC teams such as Jackson State, starting 0-6 is somewhat "normal" -- small leagues like that tend to be at the mercy of "buy" games in non-conference with almost no home games, so it's nothing unusual to be winless or start 2-9 or something. SWAC/MEAC types might have multiple teams like that and one of them will get auto-bid and maybe finish like 13-3 in its conference.
Yeah, I wouldn't have expected this start for UL. Expectation wasn't high for this season ... most preseason projections I saw was in lower third to lower fifth of ACC. But even that probably assumed most of the damage would come in conference.True on the mid-majors. Cal is rarely relevant on the national scene, but Louisville...that's the big WOW for me.
EW!!!
We are in a state of Misery.
