Honestly, this isn't as bad as 28 was. For some reason, that's when I decided I was an adult.

Let's just say my 25th was my worst. Nobody "got me" for my 21st b-day (if you know what I mean) and my 25th was my first after I graduated, so I was back home. Let's just say I've never been that sick in my life, and I have no plans to ever be that sick again...

I love that we're all giving cyismydog something to which he can look forward.

Happy birthday, cyismydog.

Happy Birthday!! Good luck with your speech. Angie is right that participating in speech now can make a major difference later.

Happy Birthday to you too, Angie!

I found my first one year ago today, and made my husband yank it out. I then went and got my hair dyed red the next week.

I think we just got the internet in our school when I was 15. Maybe we should all tell cyismydog how the world was when we were 15... Let's see, 1994... I remember Kurt Cobain shot himself, I think? Flannel and Doc Martens everywhere... Wasn't the OJ thing around then? How sad is it that I can't remember much!

Flannel was around, and I think Pearl Jam was fighting ticketmaster back in 94. Grunge was at it's highest levels, and Kurt Loder still did the Mtv newsbreaks. I believe that was also the year my dad picked up our first Directv receiver at a cost of $700 bucks or something for a single non-hd/dvr receiver. Man, HD didn't even exist nor did tivo! Not sure how I ever survived the teen years. I think we need to take a trip in the wayback machine to 1994 for a history lesson today for cyismydog!

Oh, man, Kurt Loder - and weren't Kennedy and Pauly Shore VJ's?? I remember watching the grunge laser light show at the Science Center - lots of Soundgarden. I think I got my first VCR for my 15th birthday - do they even still sell just straight VCR's anymore, or do they all come with a dual DVD player?? I think my grandparents got a really early version of the car phone back then for use on their farm...

I turned 21 in 1994. I wish I remembered that year.

(Or last year...)

I was assuming regional or district individual contests - got a "I" at state all four years. Good luck today - enjoy speech, it helps you a lot later in life. I'm giving a speech to 400 people in late February, and am not nervous at all.

Hey, kid - some of us are turning 30 today, so don't celebrate too loud. Gives me a headache.

Happy Birthday to you, too, kid. That was soooooo six years ago.

Happy birthday to you all.

GOOD LUCK AT SPEECH! Hopefully you make all state and get to spend a day hanging around ISU. When I made IE all state for spontaneous all state got snowed out. All the 1 ratings at state in improv, and choral reading never racked up an all state nom.
