Help me understand how losing to an Ncaa tournament team on the road in the first game without Milan was a very bad loss against a very bad team.

I think we've only won once in Morgantown in maybe Hoibergs second year since they joined the Big 12 and that's a bad loss?

Fans white knighting all week against literally any “perceived” negative take/reaction/opinion, any semblance of criticism or frustration, etc. has been sort of fascinating to follow on these boards.

I promise, Coach, it’s fine bud! I promise, the coaches and players are focused on their stuff and not worried about our fans being normal fans that are correctly acknowledging/discussing their favorite team that has factually sustained some really bad losses (and poor play) since mid-January. Games that - even with injuries - it had no business losing, and will pay the price on the seed like for doing so.

Can the team still make a deep run despite these games where they’ve played horribly? Yep! Last night was a great start to March. LFG!

ISU didn't play well in any of those games but losing at WV, who is a bubbleish team isn't that bad and it's not white knighting to say it.

I would add… I really like how much of an inside connection you and CW have with the players and coaches, especially MBB. But that connection comes with the burden of you two maintaining their trust and being muzzled a bit with what you can say/disclose. I get that. I think most posters here get the that.

Thank you. And honestly nobody at Iowa State has ever told CW or me we can’t say something. But as we’ve gotten older (hopefully wiser) being over reactionary gets tiresome. It’s a long season that has many ups and downs and we try to stay level for good or bad. Thanks for listening and everyone’s support of the advertisers that keep this place running.

Agreed. Even the first 5 min the sound was different and loud and then it was noticeably more quiet for the rest of the game. Maybe someone smarter than me can tell why ESPN does that?

I personally think you are more of a fan of getting attention, even negative attention, than anything else.

It's definitely not just you. It's been a thing with all of TJ's teams where no lead is safe. They really struggle to keep a lead after building it and it makes the games stressful as a fan even when we end up winning comfortably. I think it's from the bouts of going 5+ minutes without making a field goal, which we seem to do a lot.

Like in the Auburn game, lots of fans were seemingly so pleased when we only lost by two on a tip-in. I was seething! We led that game by 18 points and had a 15-point lead in the second half. "Auburn is really good!" Well what are we?

I don't watch enough of other teams to know if it's normal or something unique to us.

I mean we have made comebacks to get it close from double digit deficits as well. WV, KSU, Arizona, Houston.

Teams make runs. I don’t think it’s just a “TJ’s team” thing. It happens all the time in college and NBA.
