It (ie WV) doesn't compare. Like so many other arenas, it has a cold empty feeling. It's not the fans, but rather the architecture. Hilton was designed to bring the fans closer to the floor. Things like proximity, finished ceiling (instead of rafters or trusses), color, open inside concourse, etc make Hilton unique.
Thank you. I like how you articulated some of the points that make Hilton unique!

For those that have been to other B12 arenas, like the Phog, OSU, others, what say you? Is Hilton the #1 venue?

Phog Allen is tops. It's one of the most unique and awesome atmospheres in all of sports. You don't get a sense watching on TV for how old and small it is, which I think is more charming than a new arena. It holds plenty of people, but they are packed in there, and it is LOUD.

Hilton being #2 is nothing to be ashamed of. I'd still put it up there as one of the best experiences in college basketball.

Brammlage at KSU and LNC at OU are dumps. Brammlage can be extremely hostile though. Carver is bad too. Just ugly and dark.

Hilton does need some updates badly and I admit that I am bummed that the concessions are not moving to an expanded outer circle of a new concourse but I understand that such moves are terribly expensive.

The initial plan was that the inner concourse would be suites and the outer concourse would be expanded with the temporary concession stands moved beyond the columns. Has that changed?

The bad area of the state.
If Tre Jackson isn't like the 8th man in the rotation next year then I feel like it's going to be another long long season

While I understand your statement, for some reason I liked Jackson effort and energy last year. Not sure he still won't be 8th or 9th guy, but I think he could still be a very important guy next year. Maybe a D specialist or something.

Way up there

He's a niche player, last year he was solid against teams like Baylor, who played a lot of guards that weren't long and athletic. He plays hard but he just gets physically overwhelmed by bigger, stronger players. I don't like him getting big minutes but there are situations where he holds his own. He is a traditional 3 trapped in a PG's body, even being an average ball handler would turn him into an entirely different player.

He was a bad defender last season. He should be a spot up shooter who can occasionally get hot off the bench. No more off the dribble heaves like he thinks he's Steph. No more one handed passes. Find a gap and hit a shot. Try not to get abused on defense. He's good at getting his hands on passes, but he cant stay in front of anyone. At least he couldn't last season.

The museum display stuff entering the Phog is really good, too.
The Phog is an easy #1 for the conference. Hilton can approach it with a good team, but Kansas is well past us.

what are you ******* watching? Tre Jackson couldn't stay in front of anyone? He was by far the best defender on that team last year.

Tre hurt his knee before the season started and didn't play a game until January. That likely caused some of the struggles. Yet he still led the team in steals in conference games and had the lowest turnover rate.
Yes, he shot like crap and looked more promising as a freshman when playing less minutes.
He can bounceback and be a solid backup guard.

This.

By far the best thing I saw about him from high school was a sweet shooting stroke from 3. It would be nice if he could recover that stroke next year.
