Gilbert was out for 2 games. It’s not like he was tearing it up before that
Back to form means more than just health. We all know he is capable of playing much better than he has. Like it or not if this team is going to be the best it can be we need Gilbert to start playing better. Saying he's worthless and throwing him on the trash heap isn't going to get that done.

He’s runs a fan site. Not some true media platform. Why would he ruffle feathers. And he’s right more than he is wrong.
He tries to walk a line between journalist and fan boy when he can’t even come close to putting aside his personal feelings for TJ aside. Agree this is a fan site and not an objective media outlet (obviously) which is all the more reason I think it’s stupid to dunk on fans.

Your point about ruffling feathers is interesting. I see it the other way.

You think him trashing coaches will keep the sweet podcasts in the summer? The fun events that the coaches come to because he has a great relationship with him? He does pretty well with CF and NIL deals for them. No reason to burn bridges. And he’s more objective than a fan. Judging by game threads, most people haven’t ever watched a sports ball game and complain way too much. But you do you, trash on a guy that gives you a lot of free insight and hours of media to fill your time.

I promise you, if he and Blum acted 1% the way this board often does, there’s no special football pods or basketball pods. Guys and gals arent going to fundraisers for him.

If you want an idiot fan boy that only bashes players and coaches, go listen to some Hawkeye podcasts with Kirk or Fran. Oh wait, they don’t do those things because folks like Eicholt dog on them even in the good times.

Shout out to you guys that predicted a curb stomping tonight after the heartbreaker in Tucson.
I was predicting a close ISU win, because our guys are kicking butt at the NFL combine, Niang and Haliburton were on hand, I could feel a nice home win..... but I wasn't expecting a 17 point win. I really like the way Heise and Chat have been contributing lately.

And then he returns and has more turnovers than points... again.
I wish Kane was around to break him down and teach him how to play. He has some serious talent, but he seems to have been a click or two off for a month or more. Mostly it seems he just has forgotten how to play the way he needs to so that he fits in the offense. Too much of him trying to lead the team to victory. He’s pressing and it throws everything off.

There is “bashing” and there is having any ability to be objective. Sorry, but I’m not falling for the false dilemma here.

He is similar to Kane physically. Would be awesome if he could drive and score, and pass like Kane.

Super fun game! The team played really well. The turnovers are an issue.

Take 13 minutes to listen to Tyrese’s press conference. Holy **** is that kid impressive. Like amazingly impressive.

Also I sat next to a woman in a full length fur coat. Thank goodness we won because I don’t want the memory of the absolute Real Housewives type drama to be sullied with a loss. It was simply the most fantastic display of non sensical commentary I’ve ever listened to. And I dare to say section 227 has never seen a full length fur coat.

He also has legitimate journalists on here like Rob. If you throw in IE podcasts, I'm not sure where some of those shows land.

vs Colorado - 5 pts, 6 TOs
vs Cincy - 8 pts, 5 TOs
vs TCU - 8 pts, 5 TOs
vs KSU - 8 pts, 5 TOs

Those were prior to him missing time.... Before that he had been playing well. What happened?
but he was playing with a muscle strain before sitting out. And maybe that was still the issue against Zona. Or hopefully he was just rusty and his feel for the game and timing was off. Sometimes he passes up what appears to be relavtiely easy layups and attempts a pull up a hard one instead. Or sometimes he passes up the shot and tries to pass it in a crowd and turns it over.
