I wonder why he was an assistant at Baylor for so long (2003-2022) despite evidently wanting to be a head coach. Was he getting interviews and not getting the offer, or was someone saying to teams who were thinking about interviewing him "Hey yeah, about that guy..."? Or Option C?
He was known as THE KEY recruiter for BU. All the top50-100 BBall recruits with a Christian faith would readily consider Baylor. Drew's success & Tang's vocal faith were a match made in heaven (pun intended) which led to BU's success in getting tons of top recruits & making a run to the 'Ship. Since Tang left, BU is still very good but they've dropped just a bit & KSU is reaping the effects of getting a great recruiter but unproven HC.

More oil money in Kansas than a lot of people understand.
Its also the annuity capitol of the world. One thing ksu does is shake the donor trees for $$$. A collective is nice but not sure $50 per month makes a difference.

I like Tang as the coach of the purple kitties.
I like it too. My fear if Tang gets fired is that he will go back to Baylor as an assistant. I'd rather he be the head coach of a middling KSU team than returning & bolstering the recruiting of an already very good Baylor team.

They aren’t going to sniff the NCAA tournament (or any post season). They are getting blown out regularly but both good and bad teams, are 7-8 overall, and in second to last place in the conference.

Very unfortunate that Tang had this much bad luck this year so far with a top NIL roster, an easy-ish schedule, and a great home court advantage. Definitely isn’t him and there is absolutely no blame on the head coach for a season like this.
One doesn't merely recover from a major spy scandal. If anyone is to blame it is Iowa State fans, they unleashed shuck and aww (not shock and awe) from KSU.

This ain't about roundball. There's bigger dynamics at work. The players aren't working hard enough to get Tang into heaven. So, Tang's heart is not in it, and without heart there's no art.
Well, Dorothy was from Kansas and she managed to get a heart for someone. Tang just needs to find his Dorothy.

Agreed.
Before Prohm's last year I thought ISU should interview him and Mark Pope.

Tang is a douche Steve Prohm. Knows players, can recruit but just can't get it done on the floor.

I really do hope Steve can get it turned around at Murray.

Baylor’s best years were due to mostly unheralded transfers and high school recruits

IMO it was more McCasland.
