I think the 49ers aren't in a good spot. They need to start dumping some assets, specifically Samuel. If you could find a way to get out of McCaffery, Aiyuk or WIlliams, you should. That's just not likely. So where you're probably at is a 3-4 year window where you're fighting to make the playoffs because your roster just isn't that great right now. Now your options are to pay Brock something in mid-40s or so and ride him through that hoping that by the next time he comes around you can realign assets for his last contract. You could also take his option, probably hurt the relationship, and watch him walk if he has another great year. You could also (I think) sign to a huge 1 year deal which says you appreciate what he did for very little money while also getting another year to assess and evaluate. I think it'll end with the first option because I think he's a perfect fit for that system, he does all the right things off the field, and I think his value there is higher than a lot of other places. I think Brocks smart enough to know he's in a stable, decent situation that isn't going to ruin him.

Aiyuk, Williams and Deebo all have dead cap numbers in the $30 million plus range, for 2025, and McCaffery is $22 million.
Hard to imagine other teams are going to want to absorb those contracts in a trade. Maybe Aiyuk. Niners are a bit stuck, at least for next year.
I've been a Cowboys fan for longer than I can remember and until they can get that organization straightened out - from the owner's suite down - I would never put that evil on any of our favorite Cyclones.
But I'm not terribly worried about it. Trading up to draft Sanders seems more like Jerry's style.
Yes, it is good weather inside AT&T but remember that is the NFC East so he would also have road conference games outdoors in Philly, New Jersey and DC. Those are the ones he would need to win.
Another way to put is that is an old roster. Old rosters have more injuries.
We don't have to go back that far to remember a time when every 49er QB was getting injured too.

I guess that depends. I think Brock is great player on the field but off the field he is an elite QB/spokesman. Jones could make hay with him.
He’s worth as much as a lot of current QBs. He didn’t set the market price.
If the 49ers don't want to pay him then somebody else will.
There aren't many QBs on this planet who have taken teams to the Super Bowl.
Even fewer of them are still playing.
Brocks going to end up somewhere around 45 million I think. He's not going to reset the market nor do I think he wants to.
If Brock is offered - much less accepts - 45 million, it would be the biggest QB news story in years. That’s how CRAZY low that number is. Yes, you read that correctly. It would be a crazy massive shockwave the QB market hasn’t seen in years.
What is the timeline, historically, of contracts like this? The salary cap won't be announced until the end of February, I would doubt much happens before then. Do you wait until after the draft in April? I would think you would want this piece taken care of as early as possible so you can fill in around him.
