Is that the smell coming from the west?Maybe Gunner and the boys should go over and ask them about rot.

Of course. The networks are what's keeping these insane budgets possible. It's a made for TV product just like the NFL.I'm sure it was for some future benefit the networks will casually forget to pay up for.
Frankly unless the checks were 6 figures for each school (they weren't) the ADs should have told them to go **** themselves.
Alas the networks win over the people buying tickets....again.
Seems like a great idea for driving down attendance.Just quit screwing around and make every week a 6 day. It's headed there anyway so might as well just rip that band aid right off.
Spoiler: They don't care about attendance.Seems like a great idea for driving down attendance.

I'm well aware. But here we are wringing hands over a single game drop in attendance. Can't treat your customers like that and be shocked when they vote with their feet.Spoiler: They don't care about attendance.
Shame, shame and more shame. And really crappy football. Except I think Mahomes is their QB now so it's all good.Besides the North Platte tv market, what has Nebraska brought to the Big 10.
This. The root of just about every pre 2023 Big 12 defection was to get away from Texas' political grip on the Big 12. There's a reason Texas A&M leaked the Texas/OU SEC move then Mizzou, Arkansas, and Texas A&M very publicly said they would not vote Texas in (until ESPN and Sankey reminded them who funds their athletic departments).I don't think that was really why Nebraska left.
They were pissed about getting buried by Texas and wanted the Big 10 $. I don't recall Nebraska fans ******** about poor home schedules on their way out the door the way Texas and OU fans have. If anything, missing the Big 8 teams seems to be the one downside they'll actually admit.
Lower attendance across board = more people at home watching on tv. Seems pretty simple why the networks don’t care.Spoiler: They don't care about attendance.
For once in my life (and if you quote me, I will deny it!) I want the Iowa State game to be at night, so I can watch the Iron Bowl BEFORE I watch the Cyclones kick that Wildcat arse!![]()
I want a beat down! What do you hope to see, do you think Auburn has a chance, or you wish for the beat down? On paper from a disinterested party like myself the Iron Bowl looks a little lopsided.

Money talks, could be worse the NFL switched a game this week from Sunday to Thursday for later in the season. How many people had already taken the day off to go to the game or now can't attend the game that is now on Thursday?Maybe it's time to amend the contract. It's not like Fox and ESPN are giving the Big 12 "prime" slots anyway.
*Weeks 1-3 announced during the summer (same as now).
*6-day holds not available prior to Nov. 1.
*Max of four 6-day holds allowed; no exceptions.
