It's just insane to me how some on here, including CW and Rob Gray evidently, cannot possibly fathom how some of us fans can be absolutely THRILLED that we won today, on the road, in the best conference in the country, without our best player, against a top 20 team... AND also feel like there's a few things this team needs to work on to reach where they want to get by the end of the season.

It's the same exact thing with football.

I guarantee you 100% that TJ is not happy whatsoever with how our 19 pt lead disappeared down to 1 in the last 10 minutes of that game today. So is he not a true fan of ISU then? We did not play well, particularly in the last 5 minutes, today at all. And playing like that down the stretch will cost you in future games if you don't learn how to figure it out and keep your composure in those moments. TJ will watch that film and not be happy with what he sees, and will work with the guys to figure it out. It doesn't mean TJ isn't thrilled to get that win today, of course he is, but he also knows this team will not get to where it wants to be at the end of the year if they don't work on that.

I don't know how many times some of us have to say that we are absolutely thrilled with getting the W today. Just because we think there's some things to work on does NOT make us bad fans. Why the hate? Geeez... lighten up! We're all on the same team here folks!

What is your goal for the team?

CBS Sports Norlander wrote a column on this topic a couple of weeks ago (not specific to Dixon, but in general).

They do need to start giving coaches technicals for this... it's gotten WAY out of hand.

Also... can coaches go all the way to half court? I thought they couldn't go past that line on the sideline. Dixon was all the way to the half court line all day when the play was happening at the other end of the court. Sometimes crossing it even.

We have seen the “body of work” with some of the posters. The posters who are being considered bad fans are the ones who are constantly finding the negative in everything, seemingly never being happy no matter what the outcome is. Being critical at times is one thing, being negative the majority of the time is another.

Using TJ as an example is stupid. He’s the coach, his job is to find the problems, point them out, and fix them. A fans job is to support the team.

What is your goal for the team?

I never once talked about what my goals are for the team, so why do you ask?

I only want them to reach their own goals they set for themselves. I can imagine they have some fairly lofty goals... most teams do.

Am I a bad fan for wanting them to reach their goals this season, and be happy?

I doubt if their only goal this year was to beat TCU on the road... but maybe I'm wrong? Maybe they have nothing left to play for this year? I really doubt it though.

It better be. If we cant sweep Hilton next week things start to get a little scary
Laying off the vice yet? Barring anything crazy this team is fine. Sweeping at Hilton is the bar but 1 loss will still get us to the tourney

As fans we aren't allowed to analyze the games? If so, I apologize.

I guess if you're going to write about how they have some things to work on, it would be based on what you expect of the team.

They could have won by 30 today and coaches are going to find things to work on if they're doing their job.

Any win is good and this week was a good reminder that a basketball season is a roller coaster for...let me check...everyone. Every single team. No matter what kinds of goals they have.

I’m glad I’ve been on the C Jones bandwagon from the beginning. He’s been doing everything he did today, except scoring, all season. Really felt like he needed to let loose and take the shots. You never have to worry about what’s going to happen with the ball in his hand, like you sometimes do with Gilbert or Pav. He just needs more of Gilbert’s confidence and to take a chance sometimes.

Hope he continues to grow and when Tamin comes back keeps a big roll. He can play 1,2,3, or even 4 when we go small ball.

Below is what you posted late in the game when we were collapsing. So are you a bad fan too? You were being critical of the team.

Sure if you want to go that route.

Things tend to snowball with the group when they look impatient.

**Kind of weird to do a deep search for a post by the way but you do you.

And they (BYU) are about to give up a 16 point lead. In 7 minutes.

Sòooooo hard to win on the road

I don't know if it's just the black and red school colors or what but when Tech has things rolling in football and basketball their home court/stadiums look like nightmares.

FWIW, @madguy30 posts A LOT. We are all keeping tabs, and we all have our moments. We're all ISU fans so there's plenty of nut cupping to go around.

That's not what we are discussing here. In fact, I would argue the bar for acceptable criticism is set exceptionally generously here because of it.

So if one stands out to the regulars for being unhinged from a negativity standpoint, rest assured it's particularly egregious.
