I guess I didn’t realize Krikke was gonna be featured star of Iowa offense. Seems to work.

Curious if he gets gassed second half, he has to be highest usage in game by far.

Iowa’s interior defense strategy is to foul the offensive player and hope they get away with it

I was enthused when I heard ISU hung with them in the 'secret scrimmage' in October but the first half that I watched last night changed that quite a bit.

ISU will have a hard time beating Iowa.
Disagreeing only because of my enthusiasm for this yrs team, I didn't see the game last night.

It's really hard to impossible to translate the kind of defense Creighton played to the kind of defense we play (or offense, for that matter). What we do know is that Iowa played well in a tough environment, and looks very skilled offensively, and pretty poor defensively.

I think ISU could be pretty good. If they run into a buzzsaw, can they get out of it is my curiosity.

Last year if things went down hill ISU would look like they were playing with drunk goggles on.

I'm hoping having multiple people who can score can help us with that. But yeah let's see how they do when the lights get bright and challenges are ahead.
I just feel really good about this team, Milan shooting like a sniper may be giving me irrational exuberance. Tamin has improved etc... Just hard for me not to be fired up.

Iowa is pretty streaky from the looks of it too.
If I was an Iowa fan, I'd be optimistic about the team if they can play better D, and maintain more consistency with rebounding.

They definitely look more talented than expected. Fran has a way of stealing ho hum recruits from mid-majors that turn out to be high major material. I still think that limits the program's ceiling, but he does well with what he gets.

Agreed Creighton was more than willing to run with Iowa. We will not. Their PG had no pressure all game. Just take it up the floor full speed and get into an offensive set on the transition. Assuming we can get back on defense, we can turn it into a half court game and change the entire flow of their offense.

Plus, we finally have the depth to compete with their foul fest style of offense.

This is said every year it seems with Fran. Run them out of the gym until about January when you’ve killed the legs of your own team. Then you go into a slump and the fan base doesn’t understand why.

Yeah, Krikke played pretty well.
PMac has to come down with more than 2 boards in 30 minutes of game time. That is just not going to cut it.

I'm intrigued if this game was a one off or will be them. They play @ Purdue before @ ISU so that game will tell us a lot.

That Creighton team isn't nearly as good as last year's imo

I think they have an issue at point guard. They've had some pretty dynamic PG play the last few years with Nembhard and Zegarowski. This Utah State kid is a definite downgrade. I also think losing Kaluma leaves them with alot to be desired in terms of athleticism.
