Listening to the postgame interview. Gilbert says they get a little lackadaisical sometimes on defense. Well, I hope we clear that up.
Much easier with a pair of winsFlight tracking showed that they landed in Ames around 4:30 AM. They and some other staff took an earlier charter home. Team plane landed in DSM at 6 AM
Tough weekend for staff that had to work both games (I believe some of our medical staff works both too) Kudos to all of them
Are you kidding me with this nonsense? It's not just today, C Jones has done nothing but shoot bad shots, force shots, and shoot poorly to start the year. Does it mean it will continue? I hope not, but poor shot selection isn't the most encouraging sign.
His performance over these first 3 games isn't even debatable. If you think it is I don't know what you are watching.
Man. He's stating simple facts. No need ro get all offended. The only possible logical position is whatever he thinks. So you are smarter than Heacock and now TJ. Got it.
Might want to post that in the WBB thread.Might be time to get rid of some players before conference season to get ready for the future.
To be fair he is longer tenured on CF than either coach has been hereSo you are smarter than Heacock and now TJ. Got it.

Did you do the graphic? Pretty slick if you did.
The amount of people who struggle with reading comprehension on here is alarming.
Can you please read and THINK about what I actually posted/said. I said C Jones offense has been concerning and it has been. He is 5/18 from 3 this year, and that's largely because of poor shot selection. He's jacked up soon many forced 3s that it's hardly surprising his percentage is putrid. Even today he was 2-6 from 3, with one make (the first) coming on terrible shot selection while the 2nd (the one at the end of the game) coming on a really good shot.
If he wants to turn it around its likely he will need to take better shots. Lipsey shot poorly today but the difference is almost all of his shots were good decisions. Some days they just don't fall. But if you keep taking bad shots, and a bevy of them like C Jones has, the odds of that changing are poor. So yeah, sorry if I find that aspect of his game (thus far) to be disappointing.
I've never said anything about his effort od defensive abilities. That's been fine. You'd have to be Mr Magoo or ignorant if you think Jones has been a solid offensive contributor this year. Bad shots lead to wasted possessions. That's NEVER a good thing.
What does TJ really know? I've done my own research by reading game threads. You may want to read up on TJ's post-game comments about C. Jones.

Lol, what? You must not have been around for guys like Fred Hoiberg and Willoughby.Milan is the best pure shooter in Iowa State's history

Probably best to at least get into some competition that isn't sub-350 teams first before we crown him.
Nice job giving credit, but it was still a good find and share!I am sad to say that I did not. The artist is Mike McInnerney.

Lmao. Citing positive "coach speak" as a way to say 'these individual thoughts are wrong' is laughable.
The hilariousness in all of this is its stems from me commenting on Jones' shot selection and offensive performance, something that can be proven with tape and associated stats. I said nothing of his effort, defensive performance, or that I even had a problem with his playing time. He's had some really BAD shot selection and it's figured prominently in his overall shooting and 3 point shooting performance.
Yesterday Ward was 3 of 7 from the field. Want to know why he was 3 of 7? He took 3 shots he had no business taking and that are completely outside his skill set. If he sticks to what works he will be a 60+ percent "shooter" (as most will be dunks, put backs, or lay ins). If he takes some of the shots he did yesterday he will be a sub 50 guy. I guarantee you, regardless of the positive BS Otz says in his presser, the same will apply to C Jones.
The only person who should have a complete shooting green light is Buckets. Milan is the best pure shooter in Iowa State's history, far superior to Jones could ever dream of being (not a slight on Jones). I really haven't seen him take a "bad shot", at least one he hasn't already proven he can consistently make. C Jones on the other hand has about a 50% bad shot rate. And guess what? His stats bear that out.
Someone can copy this and save it for later if they want (since I know for a fact there are people who get off on doing this ****) but I guarantee, if Jones continues to make bad decisions AND lead the team in shots it will cost us games. NOBODY should be green lit to take poor shots (rushed, beyond range, outside of skill set). When doing so it lessens any player's value to the team and wastes possessions. BRE taking a bunch of time, in traffic, and putting the ball on the floor? Not good. Hasan taking wild shots 10 feet from the bucket? Not good. C Jones forcing 25 foot out of rhythm 3s? Not good.
