We have Netflix but can’t remember the last time any of us watched it. Might have been one of the boys when he was in college and was binge rewatching SG-1 when he was sick. I won’t shed any tears if they dump us.

Does this mean hotel TVs aren’t going to work anymore? Ive been to a couple hotels that don’t even carry cable channels, only streaming with your own account.

We shared with both of our parents so we’re not out anything. It would just suck to not be able to stream it on the road at hotels.

You can still use Netflix at hotels once you go through the device verification process.

I used to feel this way but have since changed my mind. I pay for X number of concurrent streams and should be able to use them however I want. I don't know why a household factors in.

I should be able to give my account to as many people as I want. If I can't get in because the streams are full, that's my own fault.
I'm guessing that's not what the terms of use you agreed to state. They're just now starting to actually enforce it.

It's pretty simple. If you want the service, pay for it. No one is forcing anyone to pay for it. By using their service you agree to play by their rules. Their rules are now this.

Funny to me that they're trying to wrangle this in. How long have people been sharing accounts? 10 years? Must be absolutely saturated and they have nothing better to do.

Well.. since you aren’t CEO and they are now going to now in force their household rule… you 100% shouldn’t be able to give your password out.. but let me know if your friends.. you were passing out your password to.. need any extra help.. more than willing to donate to them if they are in dire straits to come up with $10 a month.

No one gives a **** what their terms of use says when they marketed it a completely different way and they're already billing by the screen. People who share the accounts ARE paying for it when they pay for multiple screens.

Looks like Netflix is starting their password-sharing crack-down. I said goodbye over a year ago to my own account but have been using my partner's.
Their rules appear to be completely ridiculous. Will be interesting to see their subscription numbers in the future.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me. We use my in laws and will now have to pay $8 extra to do that. I am sure they will lose some people, but I bet they actually gain in aggregate. Will your partner drop their Netflix account?

How long ago did they market this? 2017.. Dude, times changes. If this hurts you this much… cancel it. Unbelievable.

Netflix is worth the money, even if I've never paid for it. Original content is great and they have enough other content. The app is the best of any single streaming service speed and UI wise. Amazes me how slow Fox, ESPN, Disney+ are and how often I have to relogin, which sucks ass on a TV remote and some don't offer mobile option to login to. If I could only have one and ISU wasn't involved it'd be Netflix.

What's unbelieveable is how eager you are to suck netflix's **** on this blatantly anti-consumer move.

What aren't you getting that netflix is already charging for multiple users by charging by the screen? This is nothing more than double dipping.

Dude, their terms changed. What don’t you get about capitalism. Trust me.. you’re the 1st to say it’s capitalism on other ends.. but when it impacts you (you must be on your parents account)… you get so, so upset. Give it up or pay. It’s that easy. My God.

That's corporate America for you.

Oh i forgot that we're supposed to take every corporate decision without complaint, or some rube on the internet will be along shortly to defend the giant corporation.

They didn't care people were sharing because subscriptions were going up every quarter. A few quarters of losing customers...now they want customers to all have a subscription.

For me the competition is radically different. I view Amazon, Disney Plus and Paramount Plus as equal services for my taste and HBO Max as a radically higher quality product. Ten years ago that wasn't really the case at all.

For movie selection at a given time there are free services that have equal or better classic or 5-10 year old movies. Their movie selection kind of baffles me at how weak it is sometimes.

We watch all of our other streaming more than Netflix.
