The prologue was basically a shot for shot remake. Absolutely stunning. I think the Ellie and Joel are pretty much spot on. Really excited to see some clickers next. One thing I was kind of bummed about is they moved the breakout date ahead 10 years. Not sure why they made that decision.
****, I didn't catch that either. I need to rewatch.

I really wish HBO didnt keep the episodes off HBOMax until the broadcast premiere is underway. Who still just has HBO as a cable channel?

Personally, I like it. Not many shows grab our collective attention anymore. Game of Thrones definitely did it. I enjoy the experience of knowing millions of people are all watching and reacting the same thing at the same time.

How long is the series supposed to run? I subbed HBOMax last night pretty much just for this.

Plan is 2 seasons I think, first one covers the action in the first game, second is the second game. If it is successful I'm sure there will be spin-offs.

The first season is 9 episodes. The 2nd game is so long they have talked about splitting that up into 2 seasons assuming they get renewed.

I agree, it makes it an event as opposed to something I binge watched in a day and a half and now its over. Amazon did it with the LOTR show and Disney+ does it with all the Star Wars shows I think. I'm wondering if a weekly release format will make a come back to keep shows in the collective mind longer and also keeps people subscribed longer...

I've never played the games, either, though I've seen plenty of clips from both and know it's not for me. I've never enjoyed/done well with zombie genre games. It's generally not even my genre for a movie/show, but I was curious and the performances have me hooked even if the show is going to scare the **** out of me on numerous occasions.

I've never played the game but I'm glad this is a show. It's a really good show but from what I know about the gameplay I would get really bored with the game.

Sad news, Annie Wersching, the voice actor of Tess, has passed away at the age of 45 after a battle with cancer. She was also one of my favorites from 24 as Renee Walker. Very beautiful and talented.

That is sad. So young. Really talented character actress. As you wrote she was great in "24".
