Not sure if many people know his name, but in my opinion David Phelps has the best performance of any song I've ever heard. Someone posted this video at Christmas time a few years ago on here and I've listened to it at least ten times every year since

For the younger generation on here

Ed Sheeran
Chris Brown
Usher
Hayley Williams
Justin Bieber
Adele
FINALLY. Williams is, by far, my personal favorite. I'd also throw out Miley Cyrus (btw, if you haven't yet, you should give her most recent album a listen; she was born to sing rock music and has a pretty good cover of Zombie on the album). And Billie Eilish. I like most of Eilish's songs, and while I get how her vocal style isn't for everyone, that's not what I'm talking about here. She's got enough songs where she belts it out to make it *very* clear that the mumbly stuff is a deliberate choice, not a crutch that she has to rely on. She's got a killer set of pipes when she chooses to use them.

I like how you often post foreign language songs, like the middle Ronstadt one here! You could open a whole new genre of music, like classical music. Background music 'cause you can't understand the lyrics!

Sample of each please? Doesn't have to be your favorite of each (quite a list) but a good one.

Be careful what you ask for! Here are three French oldies...last guy is still singing and Indochine a little. Niagara is definitely disbanded, and I'm not sure what has become of the artists.

- Indochine. Les Tzars. (about the Russian mafia)

- Niagara. J'ai vu. (about an arm-chair merc who has been around the world watching war, victory, guns and blood... on TV) Would be great if someone would remaster this one.

-Étienne Daho. Saudade. (90's-type chillin')

Miley Cyrus has a great voice. Love when she goes more the rock route.

The first few that come to mind for me are:

Norah Jones
Paul Janeway
Taylor Meier (Caamp)
Neil Young (far from traditional sounding but I love it)
Van Morrison

These two make singing seem so easy.
Elvis
Karen Carpenter

Nat King Cole (Such a cool sounding voice)
Kelly Clarkson (I don't like most of her music but just terrific)

Lady Gaga (Along with Elvis, their voices are so versatile. She blew me away when she sang with Metallica).

Colin Blunstone. Just saw them on Sat. At 78 he can still hit all the high notes. Can sing rock and a ballad.

Van Morrison - Not necessarily a great vocalist technically, but so emotive it sometimes brings me to tears.

Scott Walker (Walker Brothers) - another UK legend generally unknown in the US.

And for the old school gang, I'll take Andy Williams above just about anyone else you throw down. So smooth and never a bum note.
Careful, you're letting your Iowa show.

Gaga's original music, while it's own thing which is great, has never really appealed to me but her talent was never in question and when she breaks it down for something like this it shows.

I agree. I don't like very much of her early music (basically, the stuff that made her famous) but when you just listen to her voice, wow.
