Josh Groban

Aloe Blacc

Bruno Mars (this is one of the only nowaday singers that has it all. Saw him in concert with the Mrs and that dude puts on a show and has a voice like butter. Think the wife almost tried to get on stage and risked getting arrested while hearing him)

Agree with tons of others listed already

A personal favorite of mine, and a national treasure of Australia, is Judith Durham, a classically trained pianist/vocalist. She joined The Seekers, a folk/gospel group in the mid 60s as the lead singer. In the U.S., they are known for Georgi Girl. But internationally, their calling card was I'll Never Find Another You. Here is a recording from Abbey Road studio in London, just upstairs from The Beatles' home studio. Girl got pipes!!

Seekers remind me of Mama's and the Papa's. Cass Elliot had a powerful voice and harmonics of band were great.

Fun thread topic

To others above, I would add Patsy Cline.

Below is interesting background on Crazy — how it was arranged, differences of opinion with her producer, etc. — and how at the recording studio she did just one take.

Also talks some about Willie Nelson, who wrote it, but who was completely unknown at the time.

From local morning TV, 1957, four years prior, you can see that producer, Owen Bradley, on piano.

Some interesting liner notes here on this last one if you click through to YouTube.
