Definitely Linda Ronstadt, got to see her at C.Y. Stevens and even had front row center tix, (not that you need them there), I was so stuck on her, I gave her two dozen roses. For her final encore, she sat on the edge of the stage and sang "Don't it Make Your Brown Eyes Blue?". I'm sure it was just for me!!

Also Danny Joe Brown-original lead vocalist for Molly Hatchett. He had that kinda gravelly tone to his voice.

Al Jarreau is an amazing jazz vocalist that really pumps me up!!

Richard Sterban the bass singer of The Oak Ridge Boys has to be one of the most impressive bass voices I've ever heard. He actually sang backup for Elvis early in his career too.

Carrie Underwood probably has one of the best female voices I have ever heard. She has a huge range and very full voice at both ends of it.

Colin Blunstone. Just saw them on Sat. At 78 he can still hit all the high notes. Can sing rock and a ballad.

Van Morrison - Not necessarily a great vocalist technically, but so emotive it sometimes brings me to tears.

Scott Walker (Walker Brothers) - another UK legend generally unknown in the US.

And for the old school gang, I'll take Andy Williams above just about anyone else you throw down. So smooth and never a bum note.

Oh great...this thread has me on a YouTube dive into music! I already posted Karen Carpenter and I am going to post her again...her voice...absolutely incredible! I would never have admitted it to my friends growing up that I would listen to the Carpenters but man...Karen's voice alone is enough to take a deep dive into their music. They wrote/produced/performed some damn good songs:

For rock voice I think John Lennon doesn’t get credit he deserves as a vocalist, sounds crazy to say that about a Beatle but his voice carries so much emotion. It’s not my favorite song but their cover of Mr Moonlight probably best describes what I’m talking about.

Tracy Chapman, Robert Plant, Bonnie Raitt, Damon Albarn, Dusty Springfield, Selena, Waylon Jennings, and Marvin Gay are probably the others I’ve enjoyed the most as just the voice.

And she could wail on the drums (about 3:30 in this clip).
