I need to back through all of this thread...so this one might have been listed already...but this voice is hauntingly beautiful in my opinion: John Denver
Joan Baez is a legendary folk singer, and Bob Dylan contemporary, who preferred a good protest song to a trendy pop hit. But here is one of her few chart busters:

Steve Perry is also one of my faves. Unique and powerful.
Brent Smith from Shinedown is easily the best voice I've experienced live. I'm not a huge fan of there's but the talent is obvious.
The BEST singer of Christmas music.
Bing, Dean, Frank, etc are all great but Nat is the Christmas champion
