I'm trying not to throw stones. At the same time, I am not living in a glass house either. I can't say I am perfect, but this isn't drunk driving or something similar that we are talking about.
In who's eyes is drunk driving any better then this? The mother of a child who was killed by a drunk driver would probably say they are the same.
Also the "those who live in glass houses should not throw stones" thing. How many people live in glass houses? I was never sure how that got started but we should change it to something like "those who live in wood houses should not throw fire bombs at each other".
Ok, bad example. Public intox? Whatever. Crimes involving children are particularly heinous in my mind, and take it to a different level.

I understand your point, but I cannot think of a crime worse than sexual abuse against a child. Someone once described it as stealing a child's soul.
